I'm putting a 2.5 rs drivetrain in a 96 L shell, and I've got to get a hydraulic clutch pedal setup for it.
Does any year work? Can I use the GD pedals and master cylinder? Anyone have one?
Thanks

Any year pedal assembly should work.
There is a difference in bore size in the clutch master & slave cylinders between years. How big a deal is that....probably not much.

for petal assembly people have said or found that a GD petal box won't work or you'll need to modify it in order for it to work.
Turbo legacy
RS
are the only two that I know for a fact will work.

just buy whichever is cheaper/easier and fit it up. it will fit, ive seen it with my own eyes in a friends car. if for some weird reason you need to clearance or slot a hole, so be it.

I'd keep the cable assembly myself.....swap the linkages from the cable operated trans to the RS trans and call it a day. Forget about the shudder...it won't be there.

I'd say keep your cable like Jay said...much better feel and cheaper ;)
I do believe you would have to stay with a GC era hydraulic pedal box
GD box's work, but with late model GC's you have to cut off one mounting tab from the GD box. The early GC's didn't use that mount at all so there is nothing in the car to interfere and it bolts right up. The later GC's used a mount in that spot, but it was angled slightly different from the GD, so just cut the GD mount off the pedal box and problem solved.
I found this picture online from somebody who modified a GD box for a GC and it shows what I'm talking about. The mount that says cut off moved down and rewelded is the one that gets in the way. For people like me who don't have a welder, the early GC's don't use that mount at all so I figure it's safe to cut it off and go without it all together. No interference after that.

I have 93 GC that is FWD and I was considdering using my cable clutch system on my 6-speed swap. With the bracket that is there alredy it pulls in the correct direction. I am just concerned about the strenght of the cable and the differance of the fulcrum on the lever arm. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Wayne
