I have a 03 WRX with the normal boltons(CAI, 3"exhaust,4gawires,pully,3/16.)

What kind of performance increase/problems might I see from putting in some Jun JDM STi Ver 5/6 profile Cams, they are around 250 duration?

i am not sure that you understand what kind of a project this will be, this project will best be done with the motor out of the car. And why wouuldn't you get the crower cams that are designed for the USDM WRX engine? BTW; Just adjusting the valve lash on a stock motor is damn near impossible in the car and best done on an engine stand and the tool to remove the shims is $250.

As for power gains, with applicable modification probably easy 20-30 WHP but there's a lot more things that can be done before replacing cams, especially for a DIY person.

Why do you have an intake, pulley or 3/16ths? I'd suggest you do some reading in the 2.0 forum on what sorts of mods the WRX responds best to.

wow! thanks for the input! I was lead to believe that cams or at least street cams would be a simple swap in best done along with the sparkplugs, injectors, and ignition wires.

I kinda want to just swap out the cai and get an accessport... but I don't have any places around here for a custom tune for that unit. And I would not go past stage 1 anyway... but with what I currently have... I'm pretty much there anyway. So I'm in a tuff spot.

whoa .. if you were considering swapping out the wrx's ignition wires then going back the the stock intake and accessport is the right move for you.. its the most bang for the buck mod you can get any way ...

fwiw wrx's don't have ignition wires

as I said... I was lead to believe that this would be as such and best done with these types of upgrades... But yes I do agree with you that the accessport is the better move. Even though I have never had a problem with my AEM CAI, I know that a tune will be the more safe bet in the long run. plus with the accessport I can always go back to stock.
