Hey guys,

I had a quick question that i was hoping someone could help me with. I currently own a 95L coupe and im slowing preping it for a swap. I plan on finishing the complete suspension, brakes, and track the car before i swap. Hopefully if i can drive this thing well when its slow, it'll really be fast when i do the swap.

Anyways, ive already picked up a set of used LGT front brakes with bobcat pads and ss lines. As for the rears, when i first purchased the car i was really suprised to find rear disc brakes. I guess it was my reward for driving 17 hrs to pick it up LOL... My plan originally was to use H6 rear upgrade with a used set of wrx rear calipurs and rs hubs.

Now my question is, whether the h6 rotor and bracket will work with the oem 95 L rear disc calipur? I know the part numbers are different, but just wanted to check and see what others have done or get any insight on the matter.

thanks,
Brian

I am going to say no. In the conversions I have done, I have found that the way the caliper mounts to the bracket has changed from then to now. So, an older caliper won't bolt up to a newer bracket. Having never taken apart an H6 brake system, I cannot be 100% sure, but I am 95% sure of this...

Yeah its odd the '95s with the "Active Safety Group" package came with ABS and disk brakes in the rear. I don't think it was a super common option. As for fitting the H6 it realy depends on what the rear hub and backing plate are like. If know one knows for sure you might try measuring the dimensions and ask if some one with a WRX can measure theirs and then compare.

Hub and backing plate won't matter if he already has disks. He can change to the larger backing plate, but the mounting points for disc brakes will be the same on disc hubs. The issue is the type of mounting to the bracket itself. I have seen three different versions of them on old Legacies, old Imprezas, and newer Subarus...

yea.. i took a quick look at the brakes when i changed my rims, figured they may be different. Either way,im still glad i have rear discs. Its just odd because my car doesnt have power windows or power brakes and bad ac. So i pulled out the compressor, cruise control, and anythign i dont need. i thought i was lucky already finding a clean 95L coupe, i guess it just gets better and better :)

ill go with matt .. the caliper that is interchangable with the H6 is much later than 95 ... ill lean towards 2000+

there should be plenty of them out there the (h6) rotor caliper is on every legacy produced since 2000 not just the h6
