I took my car in for the 3,000 mile oil change and told them that my WRX wagon popped out of 1st gear on slow downhill engine braking.

The mechanic drove it and could not reproduce the problem, I said that I was not confident in the 1st gear findings and was concerned that I would have to drive the car untill it really broke. The service manager had the mechanic take me for a drive and on the last hill it slipped out for him, yes! They contacted SOA who sent a brand new transmission and I took my car in for a full day's appointment, which lasted two days. The dealership provided me with a rental car and gas for the two days.

I sure hate to be without my car and even more in the rental Ford:-} but the dealership took good care of me and I will not hesitate to take my wagon to them again. The mechanic was easy to talk to and the manager took care of business and seemed to have a good rapport with Hertz.
