In terms of engine logetivity, which would is more beneficial to an engine? I've been driving for a day using a stock map and cannot really tell the difference. :)

1. AP stage 2 map

or

2. Stock map

I'm no EM expert but i would assume if you car is ("Stage 2") it would probbly be a good idea to run the Stage 2 map.

But... maybe im just crazy

I like the SN :)

Given you car "likes" the mapping:

In terms of longevity, stage 1 would win due to lower boost. Leave your stage 2 exahust on though, you engine likes to breathe :)

I meant to say "graduate".

Well, so you are saying that it's better if I use stage 1 map instead of stock map. :)

It probably depends on how you drive the car more than the mapping. You can have a stage 2 mapping on there, but if you never go WOT, then you are never going to see higher-than-stock engine loads.

Any time you extract more power out of something, you are affecting the longevity. If yo u have an 04/05 wrx, I would definitely say don't run the stock map since it's plagued with fueling (CL/OL) problems.

longevity may be how you drive as well.

the difference between stage one and stage 2 is amazing. however drive with a kind foot, i'm sure there wouldnt be any more stress than normal. however the extra punch will always be there for those occational "merge into traffic" situation

Not to bust your balls too much, but I found that line extremely funny and ironic. :)

IRT your original question, I would guess that the 'safer' option is to run with a stg 2 map. In terms of longevity, as long as you don't beat on the car I don't think you'll see a tremendous difference. I'd be more worried about CL/OL issues with the stock map.

Stage one map with a turbo back exhaust is not an option for safe operation. If you are concerned about longevity and the increased boost then run the 91oct. autocross map it is designed for TBE and due to autoX rules uses stock boost settings. Otherwise just use the standard stage 2 map and drive easy.

use the map that is made for the modifications on the car. If you have a stage 2 setup, use stage 2 map. The programming was designed to run with the mods. Using a map that doesnt comly with your modifications can cause undesired results such as lean or rich conditions.

Thats what i was getting at ....

02/03 or 04/05 makes a big difference aswell
