OK looking at getting a UTEC and am getting alot of mixed answers.

I have an 04STi & was looking at getting a UTEC for an 05 STi.

Now some say 04 STis can use an 05 STis UTEC & visa versa.

Others say the 05 UTEC can only be used for the 05 & 04 for 04.

So my question is which is it? I mean 04-05 Ecus are the same other than a little reflash for the 05 for safety reasons, but they are the same ecu...correct!!

Asfar as I know there is only one hardware revision for the STi, so one from on 04 will work with an 05. The firmware update was from 1.1 to 1.1c

There is more then one. I really don't know the differences other then one has one cpu and one has 2. Utecs are usually backwards compatible though, so a new one should work on an old car while an old one might not work on a new car.
