Is there any easy way to know if I have the revised 2003 gears opposed to the weaker early 2003/ 2002 set? Any identifiers of production cut-off dates that mark the switch? I'm pretty sure I have an early model 03 because I don't have the revised radiator configuration with the 2 caps. If thats the case, I'm thinking my 20G is going to eat those gears alive :( whereas the RA width gears from late 03 might be up to the task as long as I dont beat on them. Either way, a gear upgrade is in the works, I just want to know how thin of a line I'm walking here

The revised rad is the replacement even for the 02-03's . It comes as a kit with the res piping and what not.
As to the gearset, there was a revision in late 02 . When you ordered the mainshaft, it was a revised number with 2nd gear as part of it.

I thought the revised gears came on around mid-late 2003 WRX's
