Any thoughts about the Scoobysport muffler, either pro or con. I love the sound but want to be sure I buy the right product before I plunk down 500 large.

Ashton 09-03-2001, 12:24 AM Its got a great sound, but I found I needed to add a resonator so it wouldn't drone in the cabin so much. The tone is unique and mellow. Most people do not find it obtrusive at all (from outside). You can hear it in the cabin, even after I added the resonator, but it is livable, especially on longer trips. It looks "stock" too ;) well... just about. duckboy 09-06-2001, 02:03 AM it's always going to be quieter on a wrx than a 2.5rs just because of the turbo's existance in the exhaust path. the turbo's turbine quells the exhaust gas pulses at higher rpm's and produces a sound similar to a rush of air. the NA engines will always produce more sound because the exhaust pulse are not mechanically restricted or dampened. the scoobysport is not loud. just nice and mellow. duckboy lyingsonofabitch 09-06-2001, 12:52 PM first of all, I'd like to say to Lenyx and ASNG...HAHAHAHA!!!!! MELBA, subyguy2, and Ashton- How much did the cat-back system with muffler cost with shipping fees? Im looking to get a cat-back exaust from Scooby Sport for my '93 Impreza L. MELBA 09-06-2001, 11:09 PM I got my SCOOBY SPORT from SPD TUNING like two years ago. It cost under $600 shipped. Scooby Don't 09-07-2001, 06:19 PM I have the complete ScoobySport system and I love it. I was going to post a complete review but I'm not getting around to it. I have not installed my downpipe yet, but I have removed the center cat and that made a pretty big difference. It's not too loud and I think it is uniquely bitchen! I had to clearance the floor of my car a bit because the exhaust was hitting on the drive shaft tunnel. Not a big deal though. Please let me know if you have any specific questions, Scooby Don't lyingsonofabitch 09-14-2001, 12:47 AM ScoobyDont and Melba- Sorry it took me so long to respond guys, my computer was down for about a week. If you could give me any info on shipping that would be great. Such as how much did the system cost, how much was the shipping, did they send it directly to your house, etc etc. Scooby Don't 09-14-2001, 02:21 AM lyingsonofabitch, I believe the prices are as follows: Rear silencer: $375.00 Center rear: $115.00 Center forward: $101.00 Downpipe: $252.00 Delivery: $156.00 Delivery took about 5 to 7 days if I recall correctly. I had it delivered to work and that created a little surprise. FedEx charged my company about $40 if I recall correctly because of some sort of customs deal. So I had to pay the company back. Next time I will have it delivered to a friend's business. I didn't want to have it delivered to the house because nobody would be there to receive the delivery. I have been very pleased with this purchase thus far. If you have any further questions, please let me know, Scooby Don't Subie Gal 09-14-2001, 02:12 PM i love my scoobysport... deep rumble that makes the Scoob sound as it should... i had the pipe work cat to exhaust done custom at a local muffler shop for $100... so that saves a TON of $ if you want the whole set up... anyway... no regrets!! this exhaust is the dogs bollox!! j. www.subiegal.com lyingsonofabitch 09-14-2001, 03:25 PM Scooby Dont- the complete system would be the Rear silencer, Center rear, and Center forward correct? Scooby Don't 09-14-2001, 04:17 PM lyingsonofabitch, I always considered the "complete" system everything you mentioned plus the down pipe. Thanks, Scooby Don't lyingsonofabitch 09-15-2001, 12:43 AM Scooby Dont- Thank you Scooby Don't 09-15-2001, 12:40 PM lyingsonofabitch, Anytime... So what have you decided? :) Scooby Don't lyingsonofabitch 09-15-2001, 12:57 PM I'm still not quite sure. I'm trying to decide between the Tanabe Racing Medallion and a ScoobySport. I love the ScoobySport sound and look, but Im not too sure about the price. With shipping a complete system would cost me almost a thousand beans. The Tanabe system would only cost $500-$600, plus I know myself that they make high quality stuff. I'm pretty knew to the Subaru world(I used to be a Honda boy) so most of the time when people post on here about Cobb or Kartboy parts(etc etc) thats the first I've ever heard of that company. The Racing Medallion looks and sounds great on any car, but every jerk out there with a Honda has one. The main influence on all of this is of course the cash flow, yet I still have a raging battle going on in my brain. Scooby Don't 09-15-2001, 10:34 PM lyingsonofabitch, Sounds like you and I BOTH drive ourselves crazy trying to make these decisions. You could always go the Subi Gal route and just purchase the silencer from Scooby Sport (~$500??) and then have a muffler shop fabricate the turbo back portion of the exhaust. (~$100??). I hade the opportunity to listen to my car being drive today and it sounded beautiful; very deep and very unique. Hope your decision comes to you soon... :) Scooby Don't armyboot 09-18-2001, 01:42 AM Are there any .wav files of the scoobysport muffler anywhere? Scooby Don't 09-18-2001, 01:52 AM armyboot, Check out the attached link: Click here (http://i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92627) Sounds like my car... :) Scooby Don't SoLo OnE 09-18-2001, 10:45 AM What exactly is the forward center and rear center peices??? And doesn't the scooby sport remove all the cats? And throw a CEL? I'm just wondering cause I want to purchase a Prodrive catback and then make it up with a scooby sport but as you can tell I have no clue what I'm doing. armyboot 09-19-2001, 08:20 PM Thanks for the link, it sounds sweet!
