Has anyone ever seen, or attempted to make wipers that will heat themselves to melt off the ice in the winter? The most common cause for excessive streaking in the winter is due to ice building up. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution besides sticking your hand out the window and giving the wiper a slap.

I got no info on heated wipers but do a google search on wiper shakers...I hear they work pretty good and they can be removed during the summer time.

HotShot (http://www.sigmaauto.com/HotShot/hotshot.php)

Never tried them, don't know if they are any good. They've been trying to break into OE for some time, but I don't think they've made it yet.

04's cold weather package comes with a heated winshield. Not the whole windshield but where the wipers sit when not moving is heated to keep the ice from building up. Let me tell you, my windshield was recently replaced and I have this package, $864.00!!!!!!!!!! thank god for insurance. I am sure you could purchase the kit just wait til your windshield cracks and pay a little more for the heated windshield, the switch location is next to your fog light and cruise switch.
