Also it would help if you put your year and model in your profile, or mentioned exactly what car you had in your post. wrx0001 11-07-2005, 12:29 AM I have a 2002 wrx. i got an a/f gauge b/c i heard that it was a cheaper alternative to an egt gauge which i dont have the money for, but i plan to get one later. WR^2X 11-07-2005, 12:37 AM Wll to be completely honest, a regular A/F gauge that hooks up to a narrowband O2 sensor is not going to tell you anything useful, especially if you are hoping to use it as a replacement for an EGT gauge. You would have been better off just saving your money for an EGT gauge. This will help you too: ECU pinouts for 2002 WRX (http://www.ravensblade.com/car/modifications/misc/wiring/wrxpin.html). wrx0001 11-07-2005, 12:48 AM ive got a turboback exaust, up-pipe, no cats, bov, hyperflow topmount i/c, cai, turboxs unichip stage 2 piggy back, aux. boost controller, iridium spark plugs. im running 18 psi on stock turbo w/ stock fuel system, trying to make sure im not running lean. which sensor is more accurate front or rear? nhluhr 11-07-2005, 01:56 AM You can't hook up an airfuel gauge to the front O2 sensor. Wrong kind of output. The rear O2 sensor will only tell you if the exhaust is lean (>14.7:1) or rich (<14.7:1). There is really no point even wasting your time with the install because you simple won't get any usable data. What you need to know is "how rich?" in the range from 10:1 to 12:1 and a narrowband will not tell you that. nhluhr 11-07-2005, 01:57 AM doublepost wrx0001 11-08-2005, 02:34 AM so i need a wide band or an egt? |
