I have an 02 WRX

Does anyone out there suffer from extremely sqeeeky driver and passenger seats?

I did a search but turned up nothing.

It comes from the horizontal portion of the seat, some days they sweek, other days they do not. I had thought it might be the wiring haness rubbing the seats but it is not, sounds like springs.

I am 170lbs and my GF is 100lbs(soaking wet). I don't think we are really putting alot of stress on them.

is there a quick fix for this problem?

Did you have the WWT-04 Safety Defect Recall problem fixed in your car?

Here's a description of the problem (left front seat slide rail bolt can loosen):

early model 02 wrx wagon

no squeaking seats,
yes to WWT-04 bolt fix

my squeaking comes from the seat belt assembly by my left shoulder - where the belt slides - this isn't your squeak is it??

No, not the seat belt, the squeek sounds like it comes from under my right butt cheek. (and no, I have not swithced to a high fibre diet recently :o) Driving on rough pavment makes my drivers seat sounds like a couple of newlyweds on a 40 year old matress.

I'm goingt check the VIN number on the car tonigh, maybe the loose bolt is the problem.

I have the squeek as well and have had the bolt fix performed, so I don't they are related. It sounds like it comes from a spring within the seat, but only on really rough roads. Haven't been motivated enough by it to go looking though!

I have had the squeek for a while but my engine was faily noisy so it did not bother me to much. Then I got a new block installed under warranty, engine is now super smooth and quiet so all I can hear now in the car is the seat squeek and shifter rattle.
