do i really need to go to the dealership to do this. what does it include and can i do it myself? thanks

Just change your oil and make sure your air filter's not dirty and you're good. Rotate the tires while you're at it.

Your owner's manual has what you need to do, open it up and read it. www.subaru.com also has your maintenance schedules on it. Do it yourself if you have the time as most maintenance is easy and will cost a ton at the dealer.
