I wouldnt ever redline it and know how to shift a manual tranny. Synthetic oil only ever 3000 or less. A problem happens = i get it fixed. MPREZD 11-10-2005, 08:10 PM synthetic oil can last u longer than 3k miles especially since you say u don't drive hard at all....jus to let u know harv405 11-11-2005, 01:48 PM anyone else? meridock 11-11-2005, 03:42 PM I am at 29K - no issues. However 29K>100K. Synth oil every 3k. Acostafan 11-11-2005, 04:37 PM No reason an Sti won't make it beyond 100K with regular maintenance and a good driver.... If you look at consumer reports list of 50 or so most reliable vehicles (some from every category), a few subarus do make it, including the impreza... BUT there is a caveat... it says "Subaru Impreza (Non-Turbo)" Interesting meridock 11-12-2005, 09:32 PM different target market leads to different usage pattern... :) bluetwo 11-13-2005, 04:17 AM I say if you get an STI don't try to keep it like you would a Honda. Run it for a while then trade it in before it's value goes completely down the crapper and maybe by that time you'll be ready for a more mature car like a Legacy 3.0! :) |
