View Full Version : Luminlite 7440 Silver Optic Bulbs
Audiomotive 11-11-2005, 02:32 AM With the trend of many car makers going to clear style headlights/taillights, many have overlooked an aesthetically pleasing bulb. Lose the egg yolk effect of amber bulbs in clear lights with the Luminlite Silver Optic series bulb. When off, the Silver Optics blend perfectly into the refelective housing and provide a very clean look while keeping with DOT requirements for an amber indicator. Fit various vehicles including Subaru WRX/STi, Mazda RX-8, etc. Please consult your owners manual to verify fitment. Made in Japan for the JDM diehards ;). Price is $27.95 and includes FREE shipping to 48 contigous states. Can be purchased directly here http://www.audiomotivegruppe.com/product.php?do=viewproduct&productid=46.

snwman 01-04-2006, 12:50 AM Ive been looking for some bulbs like this but $28 for a pair....I dunno about that
Audiomotive 01-04-2006, 02:54 AM Ebay sells tons of cheaper Tiawanese made bulbs. Most higher end bulbs companies charge (ie PIAA) charge $30+ plus shipping for 7440 bulbs. Not too many manufacturers for 7440 bulbs in chrome/amber. We've sold quite a few with no complaints.
InfamousDX 01-04-2006, 01:48 PM Got any in chrome / other colors?
Hank3 01-04-2006, 03:51 PM Do you sell just regular clear OEM 7440 bulbs? I need some for my brake lights :)

Audiomotive 01-30-2006, 02:45 PM any of these for 02-03wrx?
Can you verify your bulb size from the owner's manual. We have a couple of different sizes that fit various cars. Maybe one of them will fit 02-03 WRX.
Thanks,
Dre
Bishop 01-31-2006, 03:16 PM Hey J*Bishop, can you post pics of your new light? Thanks.
the pics above a very accurate. these bulbs aren't as bright as the stockers i'm sure due to the silver coating. i'm very happy w/them none the less. :)

Glad you are happy with them :). Yea anytime you have a silvercoating over the bulb you will lose light output compared to a uncoated amber bulb. Bulbs with a mirror chrome finish like these will look pretty stealth in the refelector housing but sacrifice some light. PIAA makes a silver finish bulb also but the silver/chrome finish isnt as heavy as the Luminlite's so you can sell see some orange/amber when they are off but will be brighter than a true chrome bulb. It's all a trade off. Personally I feel your indicators are off 90%+ of the time so I'd prefer to have them look stealth and sacrifice a little bit of brightness vs. seeing any hint of orange in a cleared out headlights. The Luminlite's are still very visible in the daytime and the amber light keeps you street legal.

PS - Thanks for the positive feedback. It's highly appreciated :D
