I ran my 9-2X Aero at my home dragstrip (Englishtown Raceway Park in NJ) last night.

My mods: Gutted stock UP, Crucial Racing shorty DP, stock 3rd cat, stock resonator pipe, 04 STi axleback (2.25" pipe dia), Cobb AP Stage 2/93 oct shelf map. Full interior, spare, etc.

They gave the street night cars 3 time trial runs. Ambient temps were nice, in the 40's I think.

1st run

R/T: 0.054 sec (0.000 = perfect per announcers, even tho it was a Sportsman tree [?])
60': 2.199 sec (smooth, felt strong, obviously wasn't, ~4000 clutch slip)
330': 5.921 sec
1/8: 9.057 sec
MPH: 79.13 mph
1000': 11.709 sec
1/4: 14.003 sec
MPH: 98.31 mph

2nd run

R/T: 0.161 sec
60': 2.061 sec (almost bogged, re-revved to ~5000 rpm + quick clutch slip)
330': 5.745 sec
1/8: 8.846 sec
MPH: 79.66 mph
1000': 11.499 sec
1/4: 13.776 sec
MPH: 98.93 mph

3rd run

R/T: 0.095 sec
60': 1.951 sec (held revs @ ~4750 rpm, increased revs to 5k + quick clutch slip)
330': 5.707 sec
1/8: 8.828 sec
MPH: 79.64 mph
1000': 11.480 sec
1/4: 13.765 sec
MPH: 98.66 mph

I'm happy

Get your 60ft down a notch or two and your 1/4 could be much better. Not too shabby though. Actually, I just noticed the 3rd cat was still there. So your time is pretty good.

put some air in those tires and launch the thing :)
high 1.7 60's arent out of the question, and that would put you in the 13.3 range

The car definitely has at least 1.8x sec 60' in it. This was my first time ever launching an AWD car at the dragstrip, and as everyone says, it's nothing like launching a FWD or RWD car (I have a modified 91 Sentra SE-R, 14.8x @ 93.3x mph; and a modified 93 RX7, 12.5x @ 111.9x mph).

I didn't want to get too aggressive w/ the launch, but was at least seeking 1.9X 60' which I got. Wasn't slipping the clutch too much out of the hole, but after 3 passes, each about 1 hr apart, the stock clutch was feeling a little soft. A WRX that was running that night had to be pulled off the racing surface, due to a broken drivetrain component (according to the announcer). I didn't want to be the 2nd guy needing a tow home...

Overall, I'm happy enough w/ the 13.7x, and esp w/ the 98.6-98.9 mph trap speeds. I was only expecting low 14s at maybe 96 mph. BTW, I was running 38 psi in all tires, since that's what most ppl seem to say is a good tire pressure to use for dragging.

congrats.

i think your 1.8 60' might be a bit easier to achieve with a bit of weight reduction. take out that spare. maybe the backseat.

but weight reduction isnt a substitute for great driving skills, a bit of both will help.

cheers, and good luck.
