I have ordered one for my Car. Seeing them in person the build quality is very good. Seems like every other intake though, Power is less than sound.

I have a polished chrome one and the build is very good. It is louder then most other intakes but suposedly you get quite a big gain, around 17 whp, so says injen. It makes your car sound and therefore feel faster. Going CAI it sounds deeper and maybe a little dronier but short ram screams. I love this intake, but what I dont love is the filter it comes with. I took it off and replaced it with a larger one with a top stack (sucks in air through the tip). Sounds like 10X better

Bad Parts--Oh and another note, Running CAI getts a little annoying if you dont put foam around the part that goes down into the fender. It rattles at low RPMs and when you turn your car on or off. If you do run CAI, be careful where you drive. It DOES suck up water, Ive seen it during a extremly heavy rain storm I felt the filter when I got home and it was as wet as a sponge.

Good parts-- Great sound, a little loud but you WILL get used to it. I thought it was rice for the first few weeks but it actually changes sound after you change the filter. HP and tourqe gains, the car feels like it pulls alot tourqier(spelling?), especially in 1st. I love the sound it makes when you flick the throttle it goes CHHHHHHHVROOOOOOOOOO. It was totally work the 240 I paid. Go for it

On the '98 RS version there is no short ram vs. CAI option, it's always a CAI. I have the '98 RS version on my 2.5GT (same DOHC engine, same layout) and have been very happy with it. As someone else already mentioned, the build quality is excellent. The kit comes with very good instructions and all the little bits and pieces you need to make it fit (including the correct number of connections for vacuum, IAC, etc).

I briefly had a WeaponR (or one of those short ram style) ones on my car. On the dyno it made 0 power, and the quality left much to be desired (wrong number of little tap off connections, for instance). I switched over to the Injen intake and on the next trip to the dyno picked up about 8hp.

I am pretty disappointed to read this Pat. Makes me wonder if it was the air filter itself. Did you try the WeaponR intake with another air filter? Not necessarily a K&N air filter but at least a large one with an opening on the inlet side of it.
