my first time at the drags. i started from a roll, literaly, as the clutch was out at about 2k rpm...

1st run:
60' 2.511
330 6.454
1/8 9.567
mph 80.52
1000 12.167
1/4 14.406
mph 100.97

5.0 mustang next to me
that i nearly reeled in ;)
60' 2.232
330 6.079
1/8 9.253
mph 77.53
1000 11.999
1/4 14.307
mph 97.79

2nd run:
60' 2.674
330 6.616
1/8 9.730
mph 80.62
1000 12.355
1/4 14.610
mph 100.30

even though the times were different, the mph's were similar because i think i was shifting a little better on the 2nd run...i dunno. i've attended many street legal drag events, but never raced before. if i decide to try again, my times can only get better. flame on if you want, but i had a good time with friends, video'd their races along with lots of other great cars, and went home with my clutch in the same condition as when i left in the morning. :)

what fuel, how much boost, how stripped was the car, what other non-factory equiped items were used?

You embarass me for losing to a Mustang...especially a 5.0 :(

I spit on you!

ok just kidding...that's a fast trap for such a leisurely launch.

I guess that changes the opinions of posts 5-8.
This is why I gave no opinion. I needed the facts first. Now that I have them, There's nothing special about the traps, good or bad.
Lay into it next time from beginning to end. Then post again.

Til then, you might wanna update your profile.

No...reading his profile was the WHOLE POINT. It says TD04 NO MORE!!!! Get it. It was stupid to think it was stock in the first place. His profile says it all!

well, my first time at the drags was a learning experience, and i guess my first time posting 1/4 mile numbers is a learning experience too.

i wonder if i'd be in the 13's if i didn't care about my clutch/tranny...

next time i will know to post mods and graphs:

i'm confident in my shifting, i just don't practice or even launch my car AT ALL. i've only done it, well, you could count it on one hand. (5 times or less for you noobs)

maybe i should practice on my 91 map then take my 100 map to the drags...

iono, my friend in houston ran a 14.2 or something in a stock 2002 bugeye, but he launched the balls off it...so i guess if you were trying to just row out the gears for fun, thats cool but i wouldnt wanna pay to 'run' a drag strip without launching

Don't feel bad! I hit a 2.8 60' in my RX turbo. I suck at teh manual. I hate them too. Booooo! Down goes the manual tranny.

Hey W.I.S.C. What elevation were you at?

For what it's worth some of my best times stock were done with a 3K RPM clutch slip, not a 6K side-step.

I say keep doing what you have fun doing. I leave a little in the bag cause I don't want to break my car.

On a side note: I was looking for dyno charts on Cobb Stage 2 cars with a BPM tbe and completely didn't realize that I brought this one back from the dead:)

i bet if you didn't care about the trans..you'd be in the 12's if driven right much less 13's.
