View Full Version : Service Satisfaction Letter feedback worth it? Long

I have already had issues with the local subaru dealership where I purchased my 05 Sti. After I completed my satisfaction report with Subaru, I was contacted by a dealership manager who was very confrontational and ended up hanging up on me with the statement 'I think there is no way we can make you happy'.

I have since decided to use a less convenient dealership for service. I have just had recent service done (standard fluid/oil change tire rotation). After the service I noticed that the rear wheels were breaking loose on turns, and I thought maybe my tire tread was getting low(???). When I went to check pressure later in the week, I realized the rears were at 36psi and fronts were at 30psi, basically indicating to me that the dealership did not adjust the tire pressures when they rotated the tires.

I am also not satisfied that an fluid/oil change takes 1 1/2 hours to do.

My service satisfaction letter from Subaru has just arived and I am really not sure if it is 'worth it' to complain about these issues, because if I don't like the results I really have no other (Subaru) options. Am I being too anal about these issues or should I complain about what I feel are legit (and safety) issues.

I know I am ultimately responsible for the maintenance of my vehicle and I should routinely check tire pressures etc, but I go to the dealership to save time and to get an 'official' record of my service history which are important to me.

Any feedback folks have would be appreciated.

Condensed: Got screwed by original dealership, want to complain about new dealership, but not really sure if it is worth it.

I personally wouldn't complain about an issue like that. What happened to you at the old dealership?

first oil change forgot to put oil cap back on

Well, the oil cap is a real problem. I would not let that go either. However, I have never seen anyplace check the tire pressure after rotation. (Not that it doesn't happen, but I have not seen it) And an hour or so for an oil change at a full shop is within the realm of normal as well. It would not worry about those.

It is important to fill those out, however was the survey for warranty work performed? or not?

If it is for warranty work only answer the survey for the warranty work performed, not for the oil change.

And the question (#3) that asks the comparison to your prior dealership, rate them against another Suby dealer, not the mercedes dealership that has imported stone in the waiting with a cappucino machine and blowjob with every service, that's just not a fair comparison (unless the dealer is Heuberger, cuz Gunner gets it! (inside joke))

I'd let it slide. You don't want to piss them off over something so minor. You may need them in case you do have some warranty issues. Less ball breaking for you later.

The letters are a joke. The one warranty job that I had done I wasn't really pleased with it but it had nothing to do with the dealership...it was with the district reps decision on what to cover and what not to cover. But there was no section for that....

Right, the customer service satisfaction survey is for how the dealership treated you during that repair. There is a section at the bottom for comments (and the comments are very much appreciated!) and that is where you can nail the district rep for being a SOB and still praise the dealer (if they did a good job that is!)

I was pleased enough with the dealership that I took the letter to the dealership and let them fill it out for me. I knew there were certain sections that would screw them if it was marked down and I wanted them to be 5's or whatever they are.

At the end of the day I really like my dealer. The rep can take a flying leap.

I would probably go so far as to tell the service manager that you noticed a slight oversight when you picked up your car. Say you're very sensitive to the cars balance and knew it wasn't handling right but a lot of others might not be so discerning. You just want to make sure to remind the techs to readjust the pressures after a rotation, in case maybe there was someone new.
Then just say other than that, you've been really happy and will continue to come back and FYI, I just got my satisfaction survey and intend to give you guys the highest of marks.
That way they'll remember you as someone that was cool to deal with, rather than some tool who effed them over 6psi.

McRee Subaru is MUCH better that the Mercedes dealers around here. And the blow job thing is a misunderstanding. You only get screwed.
Mercedes 280SE (rip)
Mercedes 190E (rip)
Mercedes 500SEC (some one is ripping it up)
BMW 318i (Lease return)
Cadillac Fleetwood (rip)
Ford Mustang (rip) (When my brother totaled it, I thanked him)
Subaru WRX

A good dealer makes all the difference, and I have a good dealer.

Yeah,

I have heard good things about the guys at McRee. I think I took a class with one of the Service Advisors before.
