Well i have a 2001 cobb tuned 2.5rs and i have recently lost 2nd gear due to a crack or chipped tooth when i bought it from the previous owner. and i am looking at getting a wrx tranny or possibly a sti tranny. My question is how hard or if possible is it to do this swap?

For simplicity you would be better off with a RS tranny because the USDM WRX and STI transmissions use a 3.90:1 final drive vs. the RS' 4.11:1, though some of the older JDM WRX's and STI's did come with 4.11 final drive. Meaning if you went with either of the other USDM transmissions you would have to change out the ring and pinion in the rear diff or replace the entire differential. Also the WRX dosn't have very optimal gearing that you would want with the NA 2.5.
