View Full Version : 443hp 378ft/lb on Mustang Dyno
99RSTurbo 11-14-2005, 12:08 AM Just got back from the dyno, heres the chart. It's kind of hard to read but we made 443hp and 378ft/lb or torque on my 99 Impreza RS. Link to specs if interested www.careybales.com/build.htm

MrH00nel2 11-14-2005, 12:18 AM congrats
99RSTurbo 11-14-2005, 12:31 AM thanks man. I was pretty happy with those numbers, especially knowing that Mustang dynos typical read lower numbers than Dynojet, and obviously lower than Dynopak.
Blackpantherwrx 11-14-2005, 12:36 AM now take it to the track... show all the big sti boys up. ps nice car ;)
MARKGSTI 11-14-2005, 12:37 AM Lookin good :)
Is that 443 whp run the same as when the car ran 121 mph in the 1/4 mile?
STi_Guy04 11-14-2005, 12:38 AM Hey Great Numbers,

No, I was running 25psi when I went 11.7 That dyno was at 35psi. Thanks for the props everyone.
05aspenrex 11-14-2005, 12:53 AM Congrats on the #'s.

azn2yunr 11-14-2005, 12:53 AM whats up with the 2 dips in power along the band???
99RSTurbo 11-14-2005, 01:06 AM whats up with the 2 dips in power along the band???
down low Im not real worried about cause Im never really there on the MAP. I need to do some tuning on the other dip. Wasn't really worried about it though, nothing was real funky with the data we had. But will be addressed.
gpatmac 11-14-2005, 02:11 AM Carey, Congrats!
Hey, Pure Tuning is Dan Paramore's newest protoge's, huh? Isn't that about a 5hr drive for you?
Did you tune it or did they? If you did, do you think you'd be comfortable tuning a UTEC?:)
You'll have to post up in the Indy thread when you plan to take it to the track. I gotta see this monster!
mycal 11-14-2005, 02:22 AM Good job. What size turbo is on that setup? What fuel were you running?
Yes, according to my sources, Mustangs run about 30% lower than a dynojet. So with that, you should be above 500 on a dynojet :)
SOOBE 11-14-2005, 02:40 AM thats sick ;)
+1 what turbo?
engine pics would be good

Yep ;) this is a very low compression engine!!!, and conservative A/F and timing!! C16 fuel, and a big Innovative Turbo
Carey, Congrats!

Pat I did the tuning. Im not familiar with the UTEC but if you already have a base map the rest is easy. I'll definately post a thread if I go out again. US 41 runs pretty much year round, weather permitting. If I take it out again it will probably be this weekend, but not sure. It's only about 3-3.5 hrs up there. And they no longer have any affiliation with DPR
gpatmac 11-14-2005, 04:53 PM Damn, Morocco's a good 4-5 hours away from me.
As to tuning, I just esploded my engine this morning. It's most likely not catastrophic, but I'm gonna be down for another long while. Thanks, though.
Freon 11-14-2005, 05:32 PM Great numbers, Carey. Maybe I'll be able to give you some competition for next season's Tuesday nights. ;)
overboost 11-14-2005, 07:17 PM Pure Tuning is like home to me... They have nice cars and Aaron is pretty cool. I'm going to have him tune my car soon.

Maybe I could have you take a look at my Hydra when I get done and am ready for a tune?

I would have no problem with that. I would like to check out you and your brothers car anyways

US 41!!!
I'm in Las Vegas now but come from Gary Indiana. I plan to move back to NW Indiana within 2 years. Good to hear they have a track open all year. I also hear US 30 dragstrip may be waken from the dead. Car museum, speed shop. I'm sure the shop will be an American Muscle run place though :(
Congrats on the tune Hoosier.
bluetwo 11-18-2005, 06:54 AM That some good frikin stuff man. Mad props for the hard work and tuning.
