View Full Version : Evo-Auto Woofer Enclosures- New Price!!!

evolutionauto
11-14-2005, 12:58 AM
after the success of my last sale a few months back, i have decided to lower the price just a little to help kick it back up a bit. The new price will be $145 shipped to the lower 48. UPS is my shipper of choice, so i hope that works for everyone.

As most of you know already, my enclosures are made from 1/2" MDF, with a 3/4" baffle. all enclosures come with trim panels to make them look custom and factory fit. all enclosures also come prewired inside and with all necessary mounting hardware. i also include polyfil for the inside of the box. each enclosure has approximately .9 cu ft of airspace internally.

Installation is very easy requiring only a drill and less than 5 minutes of your time. Works great with pretty much every 10" woofer, sorry no 12" boxes. woofer must have less than 7" of depth in order to fit in the enclosure. some large frame woofers may need to have slight modification done to the enclosure for them to fit. here are a few pics of the enclosures:

sedan-

wagon-
http://www.need4speedpower.com/albums/album05/wrx_wagon_box3.jpg

all enclosures are in stock and ready to ship. most shipping happens next day, though occassionally it has taken up to 2 days to ship out.

as always i offer my service for install questions or any help you might need on your audio system. i also carry a full money back guarantee on my enclosures (minus shipping) if you are disatisfied with my product. if you have any questions feel free to post here, pm me, or email me at supersubee@cox.net . payment will be accepted through paypal. my paypal address is supersubee@cox.net .

how do they stay inplace without sliding?

evolutionauto
11-15-2005, 11:58 AM
the screw down in to the floor, or some have used velcro also. on the wagon the jack is relocated to a spot in the floor, and on the sedan's i include a jack relocation bolt to move it to the spare tire.

whats up kyle, havent heard from you in awhile... what are you doing on a subaru site???

Kevin, I paypal'd you the money for a sedan box. Thanks for offering these sub boxes. They look nice. Question though, do we get a tracking number when you ship them? Not a big deal, just wondering. Thanks Glen Puder.

you should have recieved a tracking number when i printed out the shipping label this morning. unfortunately the UPS guy didnt take it this morning, so i will have to ship it on friday morning.

11-25-2005, 08:30 PM
Will they fit a 2000 2.5 rs?

evolutionauto
11-26-2005, 07:34 PM
i have a version that will work for the 2000rs if you are interested in one. i dont normally stock them, so there will be a bit of turn around time for one.

kevin

Do you guys do ported boxes for a sedan?

duroWRX
11-28-2005, 09:24 PM
Any possibility of a passenger side box for the sedan or do you just do the driver's side now?

evolutionauto
12-02-2005, 12:00 AM
ilivas- i do not build any ported enclosures at this time with subaru fitment. i personally would love to, but i dont think it would fit quite as good if i had to port them.

duro- i can still build the passenger side enclosures, it just takes some time to get them done. especially during this time of the year. they also do not fall under the new price, so it will cost more.

kevin

ilivas
12-02-2005, 05:50 AM
What subwoofer do you recommend in conjunction with your enclosure?

evolutionauto
12-03-2005, 07:49 PM
i originally built the enclosures around the JL lineup, but found out that pretty much everything works well in it. alot of people have used the JL subs, along with RF, eclipse, alpine, crossfire, JBL, and a ton of others. i honestly havent heard back from anyone that they thought their woofer sounded bad in my enclosure.

kevin

ilivas
12-04-2005, 11:55 PM
What's the biggest JL 10" subwoofer I can fit in the enclosure?

evolutionauto
12-05-2005, 11:42 PM
10w6v2 is the deepest JL woofer you can fit.

kevin

dk25rs
12-08-2005, 07:06 PM
How long will the box take to make for the 2000rs and do they look the same as the one for the sedan?

evolutionauto
12-12-2005, 11:00 PM
at this point, i am super busy with my normal job, so i would think a couple weeks at the most. we are basically working 6 days a week right now, so unless i can stay late and get one done, it would be at least that long. if you want one, best thing to do would be to prepay for it and then i'll get it done ASAP for you.

kevin

evolutionauto
01-15-2006, 03:36 PM
now that the christmas rush is over at my normal job, i can now get back to selling enclosures. I have a number of the sedan and wagon enclosures in stock and ready to ship if anyone is interested.

do u have enclosure's for both side of the wagon (driver and passenger) or just driver? cuz these are nice as hell and i would loveto get one for both sides......

evolutionauto
01-16-2006, 11:39 PM
i have only ever made the driver side. the last one i listened to absolutely rocked, so i never saw the need for a second enclosure. i love bass, and for me to say it only needs one takes alot  with a good woofer and enough power, i'm sure you would say the same.

kevin

HockeyMatt04
01-17-2006, 10:45 PM
would u be able to do a passenger side box for a wagon if i paid $185 shipped, as well as $145 shipped for the driver side?

evolutionauto
01-18-2006, 12:10 AM
i suppose i could. your gonna have to give me some time to line up a test vehicle, and then the time to build the enclosure. i'll drop you a pm and we'll get going on it.

Quick question for you. Will a box made for an 03 wagon fit well into an 05 wagon? I'm concerned about the contours of the box working with an 05 as well as the color match. I have an oppurtunity to buy one from a fellow nasioc member and just want to make sure it will work perfectly with my 05 WRX Wagon.

i totally believe that this enclosure was made specifically for a 10w6. my w6 sounds SOOOO amazing in this box. the polyfill definitely helps, i couldn't happier with this enclosure

evolutionauto
04-13-2006, 12:28 AM
when i designed the original enclosures, i worked for a big JL dealer. so when i made the originals i had the w0, w3, and w6's to play with  so you could say i made it around that driver. however, i have yet to hear one of my enclosures in a car with different woofers in it that i though sounded bad, so to each their own. its a pretty foregiving enclosure.

How well do these hold up under agressive driving (ie track or autox)? and how much for a passenger side enclosue for a sedan shipped to 91006?

evolutionauto
04-15-2006, 03:37 PM
once the enclosure is screwed down it isnt going anywhere. i used to auto-x with mine with no problems, and i know of a few hardcore autocrossers here in town that leave them in when they race. a passenger side enclosure will be $165 shipped, and will take about a week to build. the drivers side ones are in stock and ready to ship for $145.

evolutionauto

05-20-2006, 10:40 PM
kevin, it's not crucial that the box be for the passenger side. That's just a preference because i often have to lay down the smaller drivers side wagon seat. But by the looks of the images in the forum, I will still have all the space I need. So, they are available in the black fabric to match the '06 correct? and if so, what am I looking at to get one to my door. PM me if you don't mind.

going to fit either a boston acousitcs g212 or g210 depending on the enclosure. if you can make a 12 inch one then great if not ill buy the 10.
thanks let me know

evolutionauto

the enclosure is sealed, and will fit only a 10" woofer. i have a batch of passenger side enclosures being made that should be ready early this week, mon or tues. generally since i dont have them in stock they are more expensive, but since i have a batch coming and they will be in stock, i am keeping them at the $145 shipped price. if you would like one, paypal me the funds at supersubee@cox.net and i'll get it coming out to you as soon as i am finished with it.

Kevin,
I have an 06 WRX Wagon, I'm interested in a box in black, my question is this... (I've read through all the posts on the boxes, couldn't find any info about it) Once the sub box is installed, do you have access to the floor storage, in order to store the cargo shade? In the 06's (not sure about other years) there's storage for the shade straight across the back of the wagon, I'm wondering if I'll still be able to get the shade stored in there with the enclosure installed.

Perhaps anybody else who's installed an enclosure in an 06 wagon might have some input?

Thanks...

evolutionauto
05-23-2006, 01:00 PM
far as i know, the center storage area is untouched, at least on the 02-05. i'm fairly certain that they didnt change it for 06, but i personally have never test fit one in an 06. ive sold quite a few for 06's, and not heard of any problems to date. you will have to move the jack out of its factory spot, but it fits just fine in the storage bin above the tire.

Just to let you know about that sub enclosure is a good idea but it would be better if you make the top part of the sub a little thicker. Mine broke when you cut the carpet, i guess you cut too deep but it didn't fall off because of the carpet is glued to it. I have to find some right angle bracket to keep it from falling off.

sorry about that fellas, i check my profile every few days, and for some reason this thread hasnt been showing up in my subsciptions for new posts.

bring them back, i never really stopped making them. I am super busy at this point in my life, so i really dont push the sales of them much anymore. i am still making them when i get requests though. just built 3 this week actually, been on kind of a hot streak actually

i have in stock one STI enclosure (just needs carpet so not much wait for it), and 6 wagon enclosures (just specify whether you want grey or black carpet for it). Price is still $145 shipped to the lower 48. If i dont have the enclosure you want in stock, expect about a 2 week delivery time at most. Time kinda varies on what it going on at work at the moment. Let me know if anyone wants anything and i'll get it coming out to you.

also, FYI my email addy is supersubee@cox.net if anyone needs to contact me directly.

Any black passenger side boxes for the 05 wagons? Thanks!

i have a drivers side one in my wagon, and awhile back i asked if he could do a matching one for the passenger too, but with no luck. he doesn't really have plans to do so. i'd still like another though

Just received mine from need4speedpower.com Excellent craftsmanship. Considering adding a passenger side box, but may be jumping the gun. We'll see after this weekend when it all gets installed.

how well would one of these enclosures work with the cargo tray in an 02 wagon?

yerrow
10-17-2007, 07:08 AM
it works fine over the tray but you will be mounting a few mounting screws into it

evolutionauto
10-18-2007, 10:59 PM
it is designed to be mounted over the tray. you will lose one of the tie down points, and put a couple screw holes in the tray, but other than that it is still totally functional. if you are interested in one, i have the wagons in stock and ready to ship if you want one asap.

will it fit a 9-2x? really interested...

evolutionauto
10-23-2007, 01:14 AM
novtec1- if the 07 is the same as the 06, then yes. if that is the new body style, then no. once i have access to the newer cars, i will get one made for it.

jeep- the wagon enclosure will fit the 92-x. the carpet color changes to black, but other than that its the exact same. i believe i actually have a black one in stock right now if you are interested.

I have an 02 wagon. Does this box mount to factory holes in the body? I know you have to drill into the foam/carpet floor part. Very interested and ready to send money.. also please send me pics.. I pm'd you my email.

evolutionauto
10-26-2007, 07:32 PM
it does not use factory mounting points, only the screws into the floor piece. i'll get the pics over to you later tonight.

For a stealthy look, mount the amp under your seat. Thats what i did.

i actually already have one there for my components. Maybe an amp rack would be good

sorry about the delay in posting, i just got back from the SEMA show. i generally recommend installing amps under either one of the front seats, more for a security reason than anything. though i have had customers mount their amps to the tops of their enclosures before.

kevin,
I never had a chance to order my original L7 10" box. However are you still willing to make one left trunk side for an STI? If so let me know and ill get the paypal out to you. Also how hard would it be for you to add a spot to mount the amp to the box were it would be sort of indented or angled for a nice custom look?

evolutionauto
11-10-2007, 11:13 AM
the reason i have never built a left hand side STi enclosure is due to lack of space in that location. i can definetly build an enclosure for the L7's, ive done a few already, but the left side really isnt an option. as far as building a custom one off enclosure, i honestly just dont have the time to do something like that, or an STi to build it off of, so that also isnt an option. I would suggest if that is something you would like to have done, you should look into specialist retailers in your area and get a quote for what you would like to do. sorry i can be of more assistance in this area, but if you can live with a drivers side enclosure, and putting the amp on the seat back or under a seat, then i can definetly help you out.

I've looked everywhere and found only the Audio Integrations box. This is a little out of my budget, I am not needing a hand-laid fiberglass model, just a semi-custom MDF box for a single 12" driver.

If u cant afford one of the AI box's maybe u should have got a KIA, or a Honda and not an 06 STI. Pretty much means u cant afford to put a new tire on the car.

Sounded kind of mean but its just the truth.:( Dont lessen ur 28K+ car with some cheapo stuff.

I have $40k in go fast parts for my subie, I wouldnt spend that much on a speaker box either.

evolutionauto
01-07-2008, 09:28 PM
i personally wouldnt pay that much either, but i wouldnt mind charging someone for it  in my opinion, your not going to notice a difference in sound with 2 enclosures that are about the same airspace, and both are built solidly. i could build fiberglass enclosures all day long, but why. AI's boxes are a work of art, definetly worth the money, but its not for everyone. I can guarantee ive sold far many more enclosures than AI over the years, but that has no bearing on which enclosure has more quality, cause they both get the job done, and done well.

so sorry fourzero, but the short end of the story is i dont make a 12" enclosure. you should try and check out a specialist dealer in your area, and see what they can offer you. or if you want to drop to a 10", ive got an enclosure waiting right here for you.

sorry for the delays fellas, been out of town on a much needed vacation. current price is $145 shipped to the lower 48 for any of the wrx enclosures. they are for 10" woofers only, so sorry, but i cant make one for an 8" woofer. unfortunately, i only have enclosures for up to the 2007 wrx's, i havent gotten a chance to do an 08 yet. hopefully soon i will get an 08 to work on and get an enclosure made, but as of now, i have nothing.
