View Full Version : I hate APD
fc6666 11-14-2005, 05:23 AM Just got pulled over again for my exhaust, on Minn/Diamond. :furious:
I had 2 cop cars on me, for my exhaust backfiring. Dont they have shootings and cars driving through stores to worry about?
Got another warning, but the cop said "if" he sees me driving around again with my "defective" exhaust system he'll hook me up.
Its not that bad, but I think I need a new rear bumper

So he's gonna hook you up with a new exhaust? Cool!
Spooln4 11-14-2005, 06:13 AM why is it backfiring? im guessin atmospheric BOV?
Wes_FSTGDB 11-14-2005, 12:42 PM Wow, If anyone reacalls, I used to have one of the loudest exhausts in town. Atmospheric downpipe mated with the Blitz Nur Spec R Exhaust (one of the loudest exhaust on the market). Hahaha that was awesome, but anyone that drove my car said damn, how do you do it everyday. I drove with this thing next to cops, pass cops, you name it, I did it. I've never had any trouble with any exhaust system. Blitz, TXS, APS, and now SPT(need new exh. gasket though).
I wouldn't think that it was the noise, but the fireballs that you are shooting that grabs their attention. I thought the exhaust thing was a thing in the past, I didn't even know people still got tickets for that stuff. I thought most of the Honda's and the black dude with the black Celica( ) have finally learned their lesson.
All in all that's pretty lame. And doesn't that piss you off when one pulls you over, then another strolls right up like you did something really really bad? I hate APD too man. I've had my share of BS with them.

Kiwi Fella 11-14-2005, 12:59 PM Yeah I agree, how dear he let you off with a warning instead of giving you a ticket that he could legally do!
Damn that cop was a real tool!
Mavrik 11-14-2005, 01:51 PM cops are becoming more concerned about the cars people are driving, then concerned about the people driving those cars...
AKLGT 11-14-2005, 02:16 PM well, there's only one cop on APD that i think is a real tool, but that's for personal reasons. i've never had any be jerks to me, so i can't say that i dislike them. i was pulled over in the legy and they gave me a warning, nothing about the tint, or front plate. my old neighbors were both cops and one of my closest friend's husband is a cop, so i suppose since i hung out with them, they don't seem to bother me? don't know.

Not all cops are mean. The cop that used to own my Acura TSX before I got rid of it was really cool. He actually pulled me over the day after I bought it and let me off with a warning. When he pulled up the license plate it was still in his name lol.
There are some decent cops out there and I've met a few. But I've also come across the real pricks that seem to abuse there power. Most of these cops are the young ones.

AKSubie 11-14-2005, 05:23 PM Agreed for the most part. APD has a serious bad rap, and I am sure it is mostly justified. Like ANYTHING in the world, you only hear of the bad. These turbos suck becuase 5 people blew em up, (out of how many thousand still going?) These cops suck for giving me a ticket for something illegal (out of how many families saved from the drunk drivers and attempted robberies?) yada yada.
I DO think a good portion seem to be power hungry, or at least have a holier than thou mentality. NOT ALL, but a good portion do. I also think some of their efforts are misguided in the sense that they give some off with a warning, yet give you a non-fix it ticket for others with the same offense.

Exactly, like after having my plate in the front windshield for a year and finally after being pulled over by 2 cops with no warnings at all about it, the 3rd cop slammed me with the ticket for that as if I robbed a store  . Stuff like that is really annoying, why can't they all be on the same page.

cooparu 11-14-2005, 07:23 PM Well, do warnings go in their system? If they pull you over for something and knew you'd been warned, wouldn't a ticket be more justified?
Just asking, I don't know. I got my first ticket a month ago, so I can't help but snarl a little at cops at this point. Plus, the day I got my ticket, I later stopped at the intersection I had been pulled over for speeding earlier, and saw 6 cars go through the red light. In that ONE red light as I stopped, 6 cars went through the light after it turned red. I got nailed for speeding because nobody was around.
Drive in packs, I guess.
Plus, hot many of the bigass trucks get pulled over for exhaust noise? Harleys?
AKSubie 11-14-2005, 08:03 PM well, it woudl be, however from what wes state, he never even got a warning (himself persoanlly) like the cop pulled him over for speeding, gave him ticket didnt say crap botu the plate, etc...
But, the cops are RACIST here. Got me a big ole truck, with straight pipes and glass back, confederate flag and dukes of hazard horn. I aint never gonna git pulled over.
cooparu 11-14-2005, 08:07 PM Don't forget the naked lady mudflaps.
Ah, I read Wes' plate thing wrong. Case of the Mundays.
AKSubie 11-14-2005, 08:11 PM "no man.... no.... **** no man, I'm afraid you'd get your a$$ kicked for saying something like that" LOL... greatest movie EVAAAr. ok, well funny.
Yes, gotta have the naked sillouete lady's sitting facing each other on the flaps, in chrome... with matching ones on the back winder.
SparkysJDMSpeedWagon 11-14-2005, 10:45 PM FYI, I'm pretty sure there is no regulation on noise made by any motorcycle (Harley's included). In fact, many motorcycle riders consider louder exhausts to keep them safer on the roads, so that other drivers can hear them, even if they can't see them.

as you know i have this exhaust and have been running without the silencer for about a year and i dont think its too loud, and i commute from the valley 5 days a week.i pass cops in town all the time and have never been pulled over for it,it also shoots flames on w.o.t. upshifts but i do kinda short shift and keep the rpm lower and noise down if theres a cop right behind or right next to me.

Wait so you cant have your plate on the front window?
fc6666 11-15-2005, 02:20 AM with my run in with them they could have tried to be more professional,
while giving me the ass chewing (prob got angry because i was smiling the whole time, and I called him dude)
But I have seen worse too, like getting a felony stop for 7 over.
I say this about professionalism because I've doing L&O for the past 3 yrs.
i'm still driving around with my defective exhaust too
f3rr3t 11-15-2005, 02:47 AM I love cops...
...taste like chicken
AK_2002_WRX 11-15-2005, 03:32 AM lol, i got busted by campus police tonite for spinning donuts at the UAA library parking lot. i was spinning donuts and drifting, and he was across the street the whole time watching:eek: after stopping, he crept up and threw his lights on. he told me it looked cool, but i shouldnt do it anymore, on campus at least:lol: guess i lucked out tonite.
APD is hiding out near my neighborhood now. they are camping out on 100th, waiting to pick off speeders like me:devil:
fc6666 11-15-2005, 03:37 AM yellow corn amphetamine racer (me) 0, APD 1
PWN3D
brian_i 11-15-2005, 03:43 AM hey 100th? like down by south side right? cause i live near freddy's...
AK_2002_WRX 11-15-2005, 03:55 AM yeah. you know those houses to the right, the one with all teh cars and stuff, as you are headed towards omalley, or minnesota? well, the cops like to back up into that little driveway and wait for speeders. i was driving home one day, and i got a really strong KA band, and i looked around and some him tucked away there.
and a few nights ago, a cop was sitting at the top of victor, or whatever road that intersects 100th.
brian_i 11-15-2005, 05:13 PM huh..crazy...guess i better slow down over their..im like hittin the wrx easy like 50 to 60mph as a normal speed just cruising down...havent put up my scanner lately..the suction cups dont seem to want to hold on the window so it falls off in the middle of the drive and i want to use it cause i paid $300 for it...thanks for the tip though..definatly gunna keep an eye...
eurojax 11-15-2005, 07:16 PM This thread is worse than that religion thread.
OKRS25 11-15-2005, 07:36 PM Pretty sad, I sit in the parking lots of gas stations chasing mustangs off with fireballs from my exhaust and the cops just drive by.
I try not to launch them on the road, but it happens sometimes. Whats a guy to do?
