did anyone else have fog lights written on their invoice...but did not get them with the car they bought?.... :furious:

I test drove one the other day. Tuner edition w/ no fogs, but I didn't catch weather or not in all the fine print I went thru with the sales guy if it was listed or not.

you probably bought a standard wrx and they gave you a wrx TR instead :( The TR doesnt come with fogs.

from the info you have given it looks like you bought a 2.5i Impreza,right?Fog lights are NOT standard on that model but are available as an option.If they are written on your agreement then the dealer you bought the car from should honor that agreement and install them for you at no charge.DO NOT let them charge you for them if they are on your agreement.It may just be a misunderstanding so check with your dealer first.......Brian

what is killing me is that I am a sales person at the dealer , on the window sticker It did not say foglights were on it...but when i posted the deal, the invoice said foglights were a no charge standard feature.... so I was wondering if anyone else went through the same thing....and it is a 2006 2.5i impreza....no where does it say standard except on the invoice.... :eek:

in the end, I will probabley resolve it myself and when I do I will make sure that everyone else knows what is up and how to get your dealer to give them or why you cant have them.....they cant avoid me cause I work 60 hours a week here....

can I ask how long you have been in the car biz?I have been in it for over 20 years now and if I had a dollar for every time I saw a mistake on an invoice or in a brochere I would have retired 10 years ago my friend.Your car was built with no fogs,heck,WRX Tr's do not have them so there is no way a 2.5i Impreza would......

FYI,if the window sticker does not say Fogs than your outta luck.The only thing that is gospel when it comes to what should be on a car is that sticker attatched to the car.Nothing inside the dealership matters,its what it says on the car you bought and that is actually the law,thats why each window sticker has the vin # of the car on it.

since i started in dec. of 2002, one of Subarus big things they would push in sales meetings is that all subarus come with power equipment and foglights ....standard.....I know the TR doesnt get them because it's special less expensive unit..... my model has never came without them for at least three years......and none of this would have been even an issue if I hadn't looked at the other invoices in our inventory and saw that that every 2.5i says FOGLIGHTS!!!!........the only reason it worried me is because its a lease and I dont want any penalties for giving it back if that is what i decide..

did you sell many Imprezas the last few years?The base cars have not had fog lights before either.In 2005 for example neither the regular 2.5Rs or the 2.5 RS sport package had fogs.Its up to you to know your product if your selling it.I go to training all the time and end up training the trainers when it comes to the product.Not trying to bust on you,but even Subarus website says the car does not have fogs...

think I see were the confusion is coming from here.I just went to Star Subarus web site(orlando,FL)and looked at some 2006 Imprezas.One of the standard features they list is Fog light Cover Inserts.I could see how some people could assume that the car has fogs due to this.Just my .02 as to what caused this confusion as that feature may have been appreviated on the invoice and then could really like like its saying fog lights when in reality its saying fog light covers!

i'm not going to argue with you about my product......The only point here is that my invoice and other say power windows,locks,mirror w/foglights.....aight....and I am from the south at a mazda subaru dealership and subarus sell 3 for every 10 mazdas so in actuality I haven't sold so many subies but, Thanks for caring...mike

yeah that is great but I do know my product.....dont be a jerk about it....I had something in my head and it was wrong....I apologize for that .....if you want to quiz me go ahead......unfortunately we just got bought out by a new company and when that happened the old dealer refused to pay for any training events... So I didn't get to do forester or tribeca or impreza classes...but somehow I managed with no books or help to get 94 on the product exam.....you don't know me, or what I know.....I was confused and thanks for clearing it up but don't critize me for making a mistake..... :eek:

p.s. i've sold 194 subies in the three years i've been here and have never had this problem but I guess I never stared at one invoice that long until I bought one myself..... :lol:

Brian is the best dealer I have ever talked to. If theres anyone to listen to its him. Out of all the dealers I have talked to in my area he has been the most knowledgable and helpful by far. When I get my 06 wrx it will be thru him for sure.

I can provide this insight:

fog lights are certainly an option on the 2.5i base model, and are a dealer installed option if you want them. Personally, i think fogs are useless. But this is coming from a former 2001 audi owner. The fogs on those cars were these pathetic little yellow golfball sized things that did NOTHING....

...except tint the fog yellow :)

you go to buy the car!
read the sticker, demand the option and when you dont get it leave or just accept the fact that it is a mistake and they dont come with it!

In the brochure i was given with my 05 wrx it said it came standard with a subwoofer. After i got the car and realized it didn't i talked to the dealership and they said it was a misprint and it ended at that, they didn't give me a free subwoofer or anything. Oh well.

From what i understand, the TR is basically a 2.5i with an engine drop, and some upgraded brakes, suspension, etc... everything else is stripped down... That might be what you got.
