I took my Impreza in to have rear struts looked at...
They fixed the problem incredibly quick and even found
a leaking seal at the end of the rack and pinon/steering column
area...

I was impressed with the professionalism. AND since I've found most
of the subaru dealerships in the Manhattan area SUCK
i.e. Smith Cairns and B&L
I'm happy so far...

My parents got their Impreza RS there. And now I drive it. The people are nice. They are very professional. Service is good too. I recommend it.

I might stop by later this week to talk about a trade in.

Many I-Club members have visited my shop, every few months we have Service Clinics, where we check over your Subaru, all fluids, tire pressure, check for leaks, and give you a visual inspection of your car on a sheet of paper for you to review.

Also food and drinks are served, last service clinic I brought about 15 to 20 I-Clubbers to the clinic.

We also can get any OEM Subaru part needed, even SPT parts!

maybe this week. you have great sales guys...very nice, gave us the best deal....I went to bill bolb jr. and the service guys told us what you could and couldnt do to the car that would void the warranty. can you let me know what does and doesnt void it? ie. they said a Blow off valve is acceptable, and intake, a catback exhaust...things like that. how flexible are the guys at your dealership? thanks

Can Town-Motors install an HID kit in my '04 2.5RS. Who can I contact? It's either going to be a 5000k or 6000k philips kit.

Hey Garrett -

I might stop by this weekend, in the market for a 2004 WRX sedan in PSM. I was also talkin with Dwight Senior via email about STi and other WRX prices. He's a nice guy.

See ya's soon.. :)

Yeah Town Motors is definitely a great dealership. I bought my STi from Dwight and he was great. Noticed I had a couple of scratches in the pre-delivery inspection and Dwight had it taken care of the next week and was even nice enough to lend me a wrx when I dropped off the STi.

Haven't had a need to visit service yet(good thing since it means nothing is wrong with my car), so can't comment about the service dept. But by the looks of their garage they look pretty professional, unlike some of the other subie dealers I've been to.

Btw I have a little over 1k miles rite now and was wondering if I should bring it down for a oil change?? Also noticed that 2nd gear is hard to downshift into when the car is still cold, normal???

I dropped my car off this past week to have the clutch replaced and the guage cluster replaced (some weird funky odometer LCD blotch... see other post in the Electrical/Lighting forum). Service was great, didn't get to meet any of the techs, but Greg was really nice.

The new clutch feels smooth, takes less effort to press down, and engages lower. And the new cluster is nice and clean, and not to mention clear; I can read my odometer again :). I wonder how long the new clutch will go without the shudder .

The diff oil was also replaced in the front diff, and supposedly it was overfilled before? Not sure how that could have happened, because it has never been replaced.

Town is most certainly *the* place to go for service in North Jersey. I've never had a problem. Thanks Garrett and Greg!

Thanks Chris and Jim !

I would get the oil changed at 1,000 miles, its pretty normal thing to do even if its a STi.

I'm taking a visit on Saturday to see Dwight

Got a SWEET price on a new '04 WRX sedan and they are kind enough to adjust the options at port that I want. Now, hopefully my other car sells so I can slap that deposit down on the WRX! :disco: :disco: :D

Hey Garrett, have a question for you,

This just started happening recently, but my car sometimes grinds when I put it into first at a complete standstill. That and it's becoming more and more difficult to put it into first. It's getting worse and worse too, and I NEVER abuse the clutch. You guys just put in a new clutch for me to fix the shudder problem (which is working great BTW), and I thought that might have fixed this grinding problem along with the cold shuddering, but apparently not. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

From new most of the WRX's I drive all have trouble getting into first and reverse. Thats why I have a auto in mine, they are not really good transmissions, to tell you the truth, but I dont think it will get any worse.

Hey Garrett,
Thanks fro taking care of my car, Town Motors is pretty great. Clean service area and hey they have Garrett!!!
I don't know if you're the same person who worked my STi everytime I brought her in (3 times) but I know you helped replace my "Defective" steering wheel...LOL!!!
ANd this last time around if I remember correctly they sent the Passengers side air bag??
I hope they sent the right part this time.
I think Greg called my house and said the part is in. Could you maybe check it out for me to make sure they sent the right part. It should be the drivers side Air Bag. I think this will save you and me both time and trouble. As much as I like TM, I do like to sleep in...LOL!! Anyways thanks for the service.

I PM'd you about something. Please check as soon as you can, I'd greatly appreciate it.

P.S. BTW I am the guy that comes in the morning with the White/Gold STi with NY plates.

Wow, pretty cool that Town Motors got such a good writeup already. I came in here to see if anyone had anything to say about them because I bought my car there last week and wanted to tell you guys that it was a great dealership.

I was in the market for a WRX and had no idea that Town Motors carried Subaru. I went to Liberty Subaru and let me tell you they have the worst sales staff EVER! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Town Motors on the other hand was great. I walked in the door and was approached right away. Dwight helped me, asked if I ever drove a WRX, went on a test drive, came back and started writing up the deal. I haven't been to the service dept yet but from all of the replies here I see I made the right choice. :)

It's right off of Rt. 4...literally 10 minutes from the GWB, I actually miss the exit sometimes thinking it's farther than it really is.
Look for "Englewood" exit, I'm coming from NY so I think I am traveling Rt. 4 West. After you exit, turn right and go about 4 or 5 lights turn left (you'll see a Jaguar and MB dealership) and then turn left at the next light and head down that road (parallel road to the one you were just on). You'll see the dealership on left, and their Service dept. is about 2 blocks down on the right on the same road.

That's a rough estimate to give you a general idea, but best to call them for exact street names.
201-568-5200, my sales guy was Richard Janke ext.6014.

I have heard nothing but great things about you and Town Motors. I have a question. What would be the best way to do this: I have a 2005 Mini Cooper S with the John Cooper Works package and about 5500 miles. Though I love the car, I'm pretty interested in selling it and getting a 2005 Forester XT (current model). What would be the best/easiest way to go about this? Sell the Cooper myself, or trade it in at the dealership? It is being financed...the approx. $ amount being financed was $18500 and that was after I put $11k down...purchased in December 2004. Please give me your advice. Ironically, I bought it from Dwight Senior, who now works with Prestige and used to work there. When I first test drove the Cooper and the WRX/XT, he said if I decided to get the Subaru, to go with you guys. He was very pleasant to work with. Thanks in advance.

Hey

just picked up an LGT LTD Brilliant Silver from Town motors.
They had a great price, and I worked with Derrick on the deal. There are a couple of things that they need to take care of as some of the options werent in stock yet, so I will reserve judgement until everything is installed and in.

So far so good though, and their service dept. looks amazing.

It's too bad the dealership is far from my house. I brought my 2002 Forester for it's 15K and to service a CEL cause by a faulty O2 sensor and it's overdue for it's 30k service. I would have to take off a day.
