I have a problem sometimes when I'm racing. I get all excited about the guy I'm trying to catch, and then I -- whoops! -- lose track of what gear I'm in. This can result in a bog when I try to accelerate and I'm in too high of a gear. Or worse, an over-rev if I downshift at the wrong time.

Here's a device that can help. It wires into to your speed and tach signals, and by doing a little simple math, it displays what gear the car is in. It works!

It also serves as a shift light. The color is user-selectable, too.

It's a good conversation starter, too.

Just wondering if the display shows neutral and reverse? or just forward gears 1-6?
Thanks

It displays neutral any time the revs drop below what first gear would be. It can't do reverse. But hey, you're usually not confused about being in reverse...

Keep in mind, this thing works by dividing RPM by wheel speed. It's not like you're mounting sensors on your gearbox. But as a result, it's not going to tell you what gear you are in if you're sitting still; it only works when the car is in motion.

Is there a set-up process for this or is it just plug-n-go? Will wheel size effect the reading? Is it year specific? I really want one of these. Do I just order from the site? I'll be ordering at the end of the week. Thanks!

Yes, there's a (brief) setup process. Not, it's not wheel-size or year specific. Yes, you can just order from the site.

Do you think having a DEFI HUD will effect this product? I'm assuming it will tie into the same pin-outs as the HUD.

I don't see any reason you couldn't use them together.
