good job, that is a pretty flat curve, only dropping 50 torque from 4k to 7. did you try spinning the motor out to 8k?

gregfeder

ya we tried but the curve was just falling off... too small of a turbo

yeah 39 LBs is probly alitle small for the whole powerband. but those are really good numbers. I bet its a beast around town.

how high of a boost spike are you getting? looks like 1 psi or so?

gregfeder

Ya he tried to work out the spike, but it was getting to be so late in the night we just decided everything looked pretty good. The spike is probably around a 1lb or so, I forget actual number.

thats cool though, alittle bit of a spike is no prob. that kinda shows you how much difference 1 psi would make across the map too. did your boost stay at 20 psi all the way to redline, or did it taper? intentionally or just as a result of the turbo?

You need a gt30R

Heck, even a 20G, Green or Red would work. Nice numbers and curve regardless.

Does it need to be SAE corrected or is uncorrected ok?

SAE actually yielded higher results but Andy just sent me the Uncorrected

Nice. Bet that thing's a beast stop light to stop light...

A little off subject, but who ported your throttle body? Was it noticeable in throttle response? I'm thinking about doing this.

how about some high boost/race gas numbers
nice car, and nice motor! :D what are you running for transmission/clutch?

Gregs car was having some serious spoolup issues. There was a noticable exhaust leak that we thought was post turbo, but might have been pre. His header hung very low on the car. Low enough that the low ambient temp and fan blowing on them could have really been cooling the header down between runs. I would have to get the header uber-hot to get decent spoolup.

The motor was definalty wanting more air up top than the turbo was putting out. Boost was falling up top to about 1.28bar, even with the AVCR trying to hold more.

Greg has a great car with a ton of potential still on the table. I cant wait to see this car with a decently sized turbo on it.

midnite_wrex - the motor is mated to a V7 sti 6spd w/ACT street clutch and Exedy flywheel

Andy - a bigger turbo is definitely going to be needed, be ready to tune another map this spring? Also, the turbo inlet came off again by the time I got home, so I bought a new Perrin Inlet Hose and Intake, ditchin that old setup.

Greg if you make it till spring without a bigger turbo I will be surprised. I'm calling it now, the email will start something like this "you wont belive the deal I got on a ....... when can you get me in for a retune." LOL

That old inlet was so oil soaked, I didnt think it was gonna last.

Andy- haha that may be highly possible, it might start with sz and end with 55 if that is the case... I'm sick of you having the fastest sube around here, the bar needs to be raised!

midnite_wrex - i without a doubt need to go r180, im affraid to launch with the r160 rear

checque - Thanks man, you definitely need to get over to Xotic. Andy is a punk but he knows what he's doin.
