Upgraded my stock TD04 to TD06-16G, added some supportive mods (pump, uppipe, exhaust, STI TMIC) and got PDXTuned. Since that the car runs waay stronger, but I needed a hard data :) so I decided to go to a local drag strip and see what my FXT can do now.

Earlier today I had a boost cut (it was pretty cold this morning), and I did not reset the ECU before racing. I wonder if the ECU lowered the peak boost as it did feel a bit lower.

Just for comparison, my COBB Stage 2 ever best time was 14.0, normally I was running 14.2-14.3 ... so as you can see below, I got a 1 full second improvement. :disco:

here is my best slip:

Good run man! Did you run at Capitol ? I saw you were in Odenton, figured that was closest to you... I bet w/ your trap and 60' times that on the perfect night with the perfect launch and the perfect run you could break into the 12's. Awesome numbers !!!!

yep, Capitol it is! Thanks for the props! I should have reset the ECU but I did not want to clear the CEL before I pull the code and I did not have my AP in the car. BUt I'm pretty happy with the result anyway. :)

nice man with that trap you should be able to hit 12s with a better launch and perfect shifting.

Congrats, if u can get that 60" in the low 1.7s, you'll be in the 12s fo' sho'...when i went to mir, my first run was 13.2 with a 1.9xx 60 ft, then 13.00 with 1.78 60', then 12.90 with a 1.70 60' (with smoother shifting, I might add). You can def see the direct relationship between the 60fts and the ets. the trap speeds only varied approx 2mph or so. just fyi

What wheel/tires are you using? My FXT ran high 13.9 - 14.1 dead stock, with 1.8 60'. I just added about 7psi to the stock tires and it launches like it was rear-ended by a semi.

Just by way of comparison, it's real hard to get a GTO down to 2.0 60', even modded; too much weight, tire spin and bad gearing. But, it still runs 12.9s.

Thank you everybody for the kind words!

Currently I'm using ROTA SDRs 17" and Falken Ziex512. I tried the stock ones too, tried to play with the tire pressure also, but it did not make any considerable difference. :(

I know some people can squeeze 13.xx out of a stock FXT, but not me. My best time ever when it was stock, I think, was 14.6xx. Sure I'm doing something wrong, so somebody needs to teach me this sacred knowledge of launch and shift.

Way to represent the XT's !!!

Nice going.

This adds to my hope of going DEEP 12's + with a 20G on my XT.

Now just tell us that you took out a very unsuspecting (insert: Stang, Vette, Rice wing, etc.) on that run.

Oh yeah!!! Don't forget to post the numbers once you do it!!!

I actually had 2 13.2xx runs ... the 1st one was against a ZO6 Vette - the badass car - lowered (yeah, you can lower even them), black wheels, and loots of smoke during the burnout. I expected him to kick my ass badly, but .... my 60' was better than his! :)))) Till the 2nd gear we we going nose to nose and then he's gone. He was 1 full second faster - 12.2

The second run, the one which slip I posted, was against a black 5.0 Stang that looked modded (bigger rear tires, nice rumbling sound) but in the end I kicked his butt badly ... I think by 3 car lenghts at least ... well, some people invest in the look more that in the engine ... guess they enjoy being slapped.

I also ran agains a modded Civic with fat slicks in the front. He sounded mean and first I though it was one of those 11-12 second Civics, but he endded up to be the 13.9 one :D

All in all I had a lot of fun yesterday. Not that many people come to the track off season, so there was almost no waiting time at all.

Those wheels/tires are not helping your times. Stock wheels/tires with more air have lots of advantages, but pretty pointless to you at this stage. Anyway, I was thinking of the TD06/16, too. Got any comments on that? How's it spool, how's the top-end, etc, etc?

Well, it all depends on what you are coming from. If you are upgrading from TD04, at first you may think it is a bit laggish ...but only until you get used to it, because it is actually a good match for EJ2.5. Spools great and the TD06 part helps alot with the healthy top end. Just make sure you get a good tune and you'll be happy.
