View Full Version : Tuned FP Green 344whp 377ft/lbs Torque on 93 Octane
ShaggyGT 11-19-2005, 05:34 PM Well I had a few issues come up and decided to sell off my rotated setup. I ended up coming across a Green with external wastegate for an insane deal. I got an FP Green, External Wastegate Uppipe, Tial 40mm Wastegate, and Wastegate dump tube for $500 so it was hard to turn down. I am in the process of getting a TDC Tuning Front Mount Intercooler kit custom tailored to my setup. I am also getting a Samco turbo inlet and Invidia catless bellmouth downpipe as well.
For now I am running the following engine mods:
-Forced Performance Green (Normal Inlet, 7cm^2 exhaust side)
-Custom External Wastegate Uppipe
-Tial 40mm Wastegate
-PE850cc Injectors
-AVO Cat-back exhaust
-TurboXS Shortram Intake
-USDM STi Intake Manifold
-JDM Version 7 STi TMIC
-ECUTek Reflash (Tuned by Me @ Performance Driven Parts L.L.C.)
-Custom Modified LGT Fuel Pump assembly (By PDP L.L.C.)
-Stock catless downpipe (gutted cat.)
-Stock Turbo Inlet
-Stock Tranny/Clutch
Here is the graph:
http://www.suby-performance.com/pics/dynographs/LGTFPGreenDyno.jpg
The car feels very very strong!!! This was on 93octane and 21psi. I am looking foward to getting the FMIC and the downpipe. This setup can definitely make 400+ft/lbs torque and 400+whp on pump gas with the FMIC and downpipe. The atmospheric dump wastegate makes it sound like a straight pipe V8. :)

TexRex2002 11-19-2005, 06:24 PM what gear did you do that pull in?
I hate people with AVCS... :(
my peak torque is a full 800 rpm later... :( :(
ShaggyGT 11-19-2005, 06:27 PM 4th gear
vinceGC8 11-19-2005, 06:43 PM all i can say is wow. nice numbers and killer deal.
Nice, lag doesn't look too bad at all.
InfamousDX 11-19-2005, 07:41 PM wow... full torque before 4 grand. when you get a front mount that thing will shine... and hopefully the torque won't drop off so much.
ShaggyGT 11-19-2005, 07:43 PM Thanks!!! Yeah it really streetable in all areas. Full boost hits around 3700rpms. The boost was tapering off towards redline, not by much, most likely due to the restrictive exhaust. Once I get an aftermarket downpipe on the car it should free up quite a bit of power and allow it to hold boost to redline.
I am going to see what I can do to get some video taken and get them posted up.

b4437 11-19-2005, 07:55 PM why 4th gear instead of 3rd? thanks,Bo.
ShaggyGT 11-19-2005, 08:00 PM Because that is the closest gear to get a 1:1 ratio. I have always dynoed in 4th and we dyno all 5spd car in 4th and 6spd cars in 5th.
-Matt
wrxtremeWGN 11-19-2005, 08:04 PM not saying your right or wrong, 90% of the tuners on here dyno 5spd in 3rd, 6spds in 4th. just my .02
ShaggyGT 11-19-2005, 08:10 PM Good for them. This is on a DynaPack dyno. If you read what the 'tooners' said they recommended dynoing in 4th on 5spd and 5th on a 6spd when using a DynaPack dyno.
Trust me I have been tuning cars on this dyno for quite some time.

stickman 11-19-2005, 08:11 PM awesome numbers.
keep us posted.
b4437 11-19-2005, 08:14 PM i hope u are happy with this turbo. it looks mighty nice and not as laggy as your 35r.
ShaggyGT 11-19-2005, 08:18 PM I have been happy with pretty much all the turbo setups I have ran. I like to experiment around and try different setups. I would have kept my Godspeed GT35R kit if I didnt need the money for other things.
Thanks stickman!!

BamBooI 11-19-2005, 09:00 PM nice. Damn that is a killer deal! 500 bucks geez!
moorebl 11-19-2005, 11:11 PM wish i could have been there. i have to turn up the boost on my sz49 18psi isnt enough. good though....the grren is a mean turbo
ShaggyGT 11-19-2005, 11:16 PM Yeah, its pretty nice. With a FMIC, 3" catless downpie, and the same boost there is alot of power to be had. Once I get the downpipe and turbo inlet I will redyno again to see the difference it makes and then again with the FMIC.
You need to get back over here and get it on the dyno to tune for more boost before you get transferd!!! Let me know when your coming back.
Thanks for the comments everyone!!!

WRXskeet 11-19-2005, 11:40 PM WOW 500 bucks, killer Deal!!!
sabubarub 11-20-2005, 01:39 AM Good to see my old stuff is making you those good numbers.
Phil sold the parts to you?
Any chance you'd be able to get Ben to bump the price down for a tune?
I didnt know you could tune...
ShaggyGT 11-20-2005, 09:00 AM Yeah Phil sold the parts to me. Since he fronted the turbo for your car I just reinbursed him plus a little more and we called it even. I wasnt planning on keeping this setup but since it seems to be making good power I have deicded to keep it.
I have no control over the prices at PDP, but I can tell you their prices will go up next year. And yes I tune. I have been tuning Subaru's for almost 4 years now.

pux888 11-20-2005, 10:29 AM So which do you prefer.....the green or the 35R? What you have now looks like a killer street setup.
ShaggyGT 11-20-2005, 11:29 AM Well I can easily pickup a UR Rotated GT35R setup right now, but after seeing what this kit can do I am most likely going to stick with the FP Green. This type of setup has less issues and gives me less headaches. After all the crap I went through with rotated setups and trying to get the car to idle perfectly and the money it took to get there, I am very pleased with the easy power this setup offers.
-Matt
J-Rex2004 11-20-2005, 12:15 PM Any particular reason why you are going to get a bellmouth DP and not a HKS, you are running an external wastegate. Seems like a waste of money to me. Nice numbers none the less. Good job and good luck hitting 400+.
ShaggyGT 11-20-2005, 12:25 PM Because if I were going to do that I would just keep the stock downpipe which is essentially the same thing. The kit was designed to work with a bellmouth downpipe. I also live right on the beach so I need a good stainless steel downpipe and the Invidia fits the bill. The price I will get the downpipe for will not be much more than the HKS. Also there is no HKS downpipe made to fit my car.

mikaust 11-20-2005, 12:34 PM that is great power and a very nice spool. Can't wait to see you add a front mount.

Yeah, the look on their faces is priceless. Especially since it sounds like a V8 when under boost. I had a run in with a Mustang GT with straight pipes the other day and you could hear him when he first took off but as soon as I hit full boost all you heard was my car.

STi-MAN 11-21-2005, 12:28 PM wow those are some great numbers! even with the normal inlet.... tell you what if you wanna make a profit on your set up ill take it off your hands for 501.99 jk. great numbers.
ShaggyGT 11-21-2005, 12:57 PM Thanks everyone!!
I cant wait to see what it will do with a better downpipe and a FMIC. I am going to try and get it the local drag strip just to see what it does this Wednesday night. I will post the results. I am more intrested in the MPH than the ET.

around what kinds of trap speeds are you expecting to see out of this setup?
jaxscuby 11-21-2005, 06:46 PM Any chance you'd be able to get Ben to bump the price down for a tune?
I didnt know you could tune...
actually the price is one of the lowest.
but a price increase is coming in the year.
I don't let just anyone rent the dyno.
so do not think you can just come and ask to rent the dyno.

Ben, I'll be talking to you about tuning soon.. thursday payday..woo!
I meant i didnt know shaggy could tune. I knew you could rent the dyno, theres no way in hell i'd want to, I'd probably blow my engine or something.
ShaggyGT 11-21-2005, 11:38 PM Yep, been tuning awhile now. I only tune my own car on their dyno and others when requested to do so by PDP.
Hoping for atleast 110mph trap speed.

wadejg 11-22-2005, 12:06 AM How many miles have you been on the stock clutch and tranny? I've been thinking of going farther than my FXT than the current VF39 but the tranny and clutch hold me back. What does a stock STi put to the wheels on your dyno?
Is your LGT a 4.44 rearend?
Hmmmm.
Thanks,
Justin Wade

Phil Jr. 11-22-2005, 03:49 AM the picture of your wastegate/turbo setup confuses me....
but awsome price. Who did you get all that from for so cheap?!
PHATsuby 11-22-2005, 05:35 AM what did your car baseline on this dyno at?
good numbers either way, lets see some track times!
Ben
ShaggyGT 11-22-2005, 08:19 AM I have over 70,000miles on the stock tranny and clutch. Still actually holds all the power. I am still waiting for my upgraded replacement to be built. I may pick up another stock disc soon just to be on the safe side.
Yeah the external wastegate setup isnt the way I would have designed it but it works. I got it from a local.
Not sure on baseline, I will try and get PDP to post up what it is. I never dynoed my car stock. :)
Thanks Everyone!!

My FXT stock clutch slipped a bit in 4th with similar mods to shaggy, green minus the external gate though. It was random slippage and didn't occur consistently, but since I'm going to be making more power soon I got a new clutch. I didn't want to waste money on a retune on the dyno if the clutch might go.
