I just bought a JDM EJ20G (Turbo) and I have searched everywhere for a wiring schematic. I have an 1800 lbs VW beetle I will be transplanting this into, so I only need to know about engine management.... My plan is use the stock wiring and ECU which I got when I purchased everything. I am sorry to ask as it appears these JDM wiring diagrams are hard to come by, but I have looked everywhere and have found no luck...

Since I am only concerned about the engine compartment wiring, can I cut all the wires that are not going to the ECU?

Any and all help would be appreciated!

so you have the full JDM ej20G wiring and everything? it shoujld be relatively simple if u have everything, post some pix and perhaps some of us can shed some more light on stuff for you-

hey matt, can i also have a wiring chart to imprezin04@gmail.com? i may be getting an ej20g from a jdm 96 impreza. i have a 96 L that itll be going into both are autos and im thinking about keeping the auto its coming with for now until i have more time to work on it and swap to a 5sp. how hard will the wiring be do you know? will it be easier since they are the same year? sorry its a little off topic

Don't cut anything until you have the wiring diagram.

some stuff you'll need like the speed sensor.. unless theres a way to bypass that? some stuff if the ecu isn't getting will put the motor in limp mode witch is no fun... its a safety mode of some sort that wont allow the engine to boost

1. don't cut anything.
2. plug everything in stock, then figure out what other stuff you need. the engine should have a harness, there should be an ECU to engine harness, harness. on my EJ18 into porsche swap I did exactly this. then it was find the positives and grounds, and yee ha, we're off. it's gonna be a great swap...be sure to search for the 2.2L bug that's trying to do a burnout and just pushing the front tires down the road.

with any swap like this, make sure you have a nearly new, fully charged battery...all sorts of crazy stuff happens with the battery low.

Iv'e been been driving a beetle with subie enginge for three years now, really fun 0-100 4 sec, 0-402m 11.87 with 205/55 rallyslicks, no problem drive one way 750 km for a vw meet..., "thanks fuji heavy ind. for doing it possible :devil:

here is the wiring diagram that i used, its for a 95-96 JDM EJ20G. the first diagram was all in Japanies but i put in english over the old text. and the second is from UK so it is english but a little different. but i used it to cross ref my wiring.
