Whats up NASIOC members...
First time I have ran my WRX at the track.....
before this I have been reading how to properly launch, but I don't think I got the hang of it yet..
only hitting 2.0sec best 60'ft times.

Here are my slips below from beginning to last.
My mods also below

Here are my slips below: Im happy
04 Subaru WRX (CAR #259)
- weight w/ me a litle over 3280lbs... i need to lose weight!
- outside temp: 40-45F
- Tires: Ventus Z212 R-S2 225/45/17 fr: 30psi rear: 25psi
- Rims: GramLights 57S 17x7.5 (not so light)
- Suspension: Tein S-Tech springs
- engine mods: K&N intake and Espelir Catback exhaust.
mobil 1 synthetic oil 10W-30 (for cold winter time)
Full interior and crap in the trunk & only removed spare tire.
93 octane
- Launching and feathering at 5500rpms

Any other details needed, let me know.
Just want other experienced people here to see what I need to improve on, but I am not here to go drag racing all the time, this was just for fun and to see how my car runs.
Are my slips pretty good or should I have doing better?

looks like you need to shift faster and not bog the launch. You should trap at least 76mph for a stock wrx. That is what I trapped when i was stock. Also it might be the rims.

You should have done a little better, but it's hard to get the 60' times down and it's stressful on the clutch/tranny. The rims/tires are hurting you. IIRC, I got 14.08 @ 95 with just a turboback. When launching, you need to keep your right foot planted and slip the clutch with the left.

Need to launch better... that should be it.

thanks guys for the input... you think its the rims and tires hurting my launch and 60ft times????
any recommendations?
try back to stock? get lighter rims? Im not building my car for drag race, but just want to know what I could do for the best times my car is able to get with just intake and catback.

again thanks!!!

To launch properly on my car, I should floor the car and then slip/feather the clutch?
Is that safe or ok for the motor to rev fully?

You shouldn't redline the motor when launching. I like to floor the accelerator and keep it there. As the revs pass 3k rpm, I slip the clutch and launch. Yes, sometimes, the revs go too high or fall too low for a perfect launch, but it always results in sub 2 sec. 60' times. It is a fine line that takes just a little practice.

with a 2.0 60 ft i went 14.50@91 in a stock 05 heatsoaked wrx...you need to drive all around with 100% less suck.

1.8 60' is possible on a near stock WRX! I got 1.8's and ran a 13.85 w/ just UTEC stage 1, intake, and catback!

1.7x are possible on a stock wrx.
first time EVER at the track i was turning 1.81 60's bone stock (ran 14.1 @ 93), second time i went with a utec and exhaust i was hitting 1.7's on the stock clutch/5mt.

thanks guys for the comments and feedback.

I think my car just weight a bit too much including my rims and tires.
plus 2nd gear I wasn't feeling as much pull as I shoudl have, but I will check that out.
