Would this work? Can I remove my stock radiator and place a fmic in its place. Looking at my engine compartment, it seems it would work. I would think that the intercooler should get adequate air flowing through that area. I would then place a custom made radiator in place where a front mount goes. Do you think the car would get proper cooling with a smaller but custom radiator? I would think by having longer hoses for the radiator, you should have just as much fluid as a regular radiator.
What do you guys think about it. It just a thought for now.

A couple of things come to mind. One you dont need an intercooler that big. Two you would be flowing preheated air from the radiator through the intercooler (not good) also where do you plan to fit fans. Just my .02

....does the hood even close?!?!
That I don't know. Looks like there are posts on the black STI to tie down the hood.

dustin.
i didnt mean have a intercooler the size of a radiator, i was just stating putting it in that location. i was thinking it woud take up maybe 3/4 of that area? i would hope that there would be enough room to put a radiator under it, so you wouldnt get any hot air off the radiator. what about running a thermostat that opens up at lower heat so you dont billed up too much heat in the motor.
i appreciate the input, need to make sure all bases are covered and see it this would really work.
incase you are wondering why i want to do this , the reason being is. i want good hp at the wheels, lets say around 400-450. i dont want to have too much lag, if i can do it with out lag the better. i dont really like the looks of a front mount, and having to cut up you front bumnper bar doesnt fit too well with me. not to say you also have to cut the plastic on the front fender. so what i'm hoping to do is get the best of both worlds.
thanks

Why not just do the do luck V mount like in the group buy that was started here?

Certainly not cheap, but at least you know its engineered to keep the cooling capacity you need.
