Today i got retuned by Jon@TDC tuning after doing some routine maintenence plugs/filters and a walbro 255.

My previous whp was 265~ ish at 15.9 psi, this propelled the car to a 12.801@108.1 in full street/show trim

Mods are as follows:

ap tuned by Jon
helix catted downpipe
stromung catback
sti uppipe
vf34
pinks/pump
samco Y

stock air filter and bov noobs

Today i went back on winter gas (yuck) and got readjusted for 16.5 psi

after a bit of adjusting boost and finding where it was happy on stock tmic nearly 300 whp was made consistently pull after pull.

Jon says this is by far the highest vf34 car hes ever tuned.

Props to jon and his mad skillz  graphs coming soon

pretty good numbers for so few mods. I expected a fmic and full stage 4 setup. What type of dyno was it again?

what octane winter fuel was this on?

93 turns into 91 in NE as far as i know, dynomite dyno, reads like dynojet/pak

jon can chime in

so let me get this straight...

you netted 45+ more horsepower with a vf34 at 16.5psi than this car (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11544365&postcount=70) which has an upgraded tmic, same turbo, same boost and only makes a mere 254whp.

then this guy (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11606247&postcount=74) goes up there with a straight stage 2 and makes 244whp. i'd be pissed if i was the vf34 owner and ended up with 10 more whp than this stage 2 guy.

now let's see this one (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11610437&postcount=76), which does manage to beat your whp by 15 or so, but has an SR40, front mount, and another half liter of displacement?

that guy didnt post what gass he was using or even a full mod list. He could be running stock exhaust for all we know or maybe he wanted a very safe tune or ?? who knows

Wow, those are some very impressive numbers... did Jon just get a lot better at tuning in the last few months or what? Could it be weather related? I'm confused... we have practically the same setup, same tuner, same dyno and you have about 40whp on me unless that graph is lying.

I guess the question I have is, does it feel faster?

Oh, and hey Jon, how about sending me an update??

I think it's safe to say you have a factory freak my friend. Enjoy and great numbers.

i hate to break it to you guys but brens car is a freak

i dynoed his car in the am and then a legacy then snow drifts

brens car was like 297/280
snowdrift was like 271/245

same psi same dyno same day similar temps (10-15 deg diff)

the tunes are damn near identical boost wise
but brens 02 can take ALOT more timing
than the 05

I spoke to cobb about this from what they tell me there are knockoff VF34
labeled IHI and everything seems bren got a good one

Bren has an UP catted dp and a stromung CBE
Snowdrift has an UP catted DP and a TXS stealth back

In your gas tank/vacuum line/ or oil. I poured mine in off the vacuum line from the brake booster and a little in my tank. Follow the directions on starting and all that. When I first drove my car I was laying down a mean smoke screen.

Works pretty well.

Big black round thing mounted on the firewall has vacuum lines going to it. Master cylinder sticks out from it, just don’t remove a brake line, nobody should mix up a vacuum line with the hard brake line, or you’ll have to bleed your brakes. You can use any vacuum line going to the motor I just happened to use the one going from the brake booster.

Just so you know when you disconnect the vacuum line the car will struggle to keep idling. I used a small funnel and poured the seafoam into the line and then covered the line to keep the car from stalling, pour some more cover up. Rinse, wash, and repeat ;).

Oh and don’t forget to hook the line back up to the booster or you’ll have to stand on your brakes to stop the car.
