I just picked up an 05 WRX about two months ago or so and am very anxious to up grade the suspension and wheels/tires. I'm very "wheel weight aware" and as much as I love the price of Rotas, I'm having a hard time convincing myself that going from 16 pound, 16 inch wheel to a 20 pound 17 inch wheel would be an upgrade.

I really like the RPF1s and know they have a rep for being pretty tough. I have searched here for "bent RPF1" and found very little............but they do weigh 15.somthing pounds which is pretty light for a non-forged wheel so I guess I'm a little leery. I live in the MD/DE/PA/NJ area and while most roads are ok, you never know when a nasty bump might jump in front of you.

They would only be spring/summer/early fall wheels and I would probably run 225/45s or 235/40s on them.

I have seen some pictures here of cars with the RPF1s but they are not quite as popular as some. Are they a reasonable daily wheel or are they track toy wheels? Hmmm.

Any input would be appreciated.

I've had 'em for a couple years and they've been POUNDED by the D.C. roads with no problems. Methinks they're semi-forged and very strong.

i've only had them for one summer in NJ, they've held up fine so far. Not as bad as DC roads but we got some bad ones too.

Also had them on the track a few times and hit some nasty spots after goign off or coming back on and never had an issue there either. its a very good wheel for the price.

they use the MAT technology (most advanced technology technology?) that enkei uses. they say alittle about it on the website, but specifics are kept internal.
