Is it possible to put 1.8 heads onto a 2.5 shortblock?
I ask because I can probbily get a a motor from a crashed 2.5 with a blown cambelt pretty cheap. Yank the heads off that, then use the 1.8 timing covers, heads, intake manifold and the like. Would make a conversion fairly easy.
Or am I way off base.

might work, but whats the point? you can get 2.2 heads just as cheap.

I already have a 1.8 So, I have heads, manifolds, sensors, wiring and everything else.
I could use my origional ignition wires/coil setup.
It would be a winter project so I'm not concerned on time, cheap is what I want.
