i love the new rims on the 06 wrx. the only thing i don't like is how they are inset from the fender. I would love them to be flushed or maybe just a tiny bit inset from the fender.
I was thinking about wheels spacers, maybe 1/4 inche or 1/2 inch.
would there be any problems with this? maybe suspension or strut problems?
im also planing on puting prodrive springs.
thanks

this is a bad idea for so many reasons...
A) given that there is only about 1/2" of thread engagement for the wheel studs, if you put a 1/2" spacer on you will basically have nothing left to thread your lugnuts on to. The studs from the factory are about as short as they can be and still be safe, anything more than maybe a 3mm spacer is pushing it.
B) if you put spacers on, you push the wheel away from the hub, so it is no longer hub-centric. This means all your vertical stresses are now on the studs instead of on the hub. Coupled with A that means your studs are really taking a lot of abuse.
C) if you run a much higher offset than the factory wheel you will accelerate the wear on your wheel bearings and various other bits.
That said, if you want to swap out your studs and install a proper hubcentric spacer you can do it, but it takes a lot more work and $.
Or if you go with the 25mm spacer here https://secure13.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/product_detail.asp?CS=allsprings&RowID=664&All= your stock lugs will essentially be buried in the spacer, and you bolt your wheel to the new lugs embedded in the spacer. Who knows if you will still clear the fender with that much extra offset.

Agreed - very bad idea for several reasons, eloquently mentioned above.
