xcntrk75 11-27-2005, 09:28 AM Nice numbers... Where are you getting 94 at the pump in PA?
mrtrex 11-27-2005, 10:21 AM At Sunco There are a tone around my area
jdillen 11-27-2005, 01:44 PM Nice numbers man....if you dont mind me asking, what's it cost for a Slowboy tune? Pm me if you dont want to post it up here.
Petty 11-27-2005, 01:56 PM Nice!
I'm thinking about getting both of my Subies Pro-tuned. I am curious about slowboy. Seems like there is a mixture of good experiences and bad ones.......makes it a tough decision.
mrtrex 11-27-2005, 04:01 PM It was $400 for the Protune. They are a bunch of great guys. Nate the guy who does the tuning really knows his stuff and he will work with you on what kind of tune you want. I have been to a ton of different dynos over the past few years and slowboy racing was the best in service and knowlage. I asked for a lot of low end Tq and a good autocross tune and by viewing the graph and driving the car that is what I got.
Dude, that is awesome!! That's a lot of torque, right where you can use it. Hmmm. . . . maybe a protune would be worth the money for the Saabaru . . . ;)
ALaDDiN 11-27-2005, 07:40 PM That is a lot of torque man, but shouldnt it be running more HP w/ those mods and a Pro Tune ??
mrtrex 11-27-2005, 08:02 PM I have seen anywhere from 220-230 whp for stage 2. I asked for a lot of TQ and that is what I got. I am sure there is more left in it. I did not want a tune that was to the edge or near it.
disque71 11-27-2005, 10:19 PM how much was the tune at slowboy?
mrtrex 11-27-2005, 10:22 PM $400 you get a dyno tune and a road test drive.
crystalhelix 11-28-2005, 01:28 AM Nice, what's up with the HP curve, looks like you get the boost spike but it goes away mighty quickly, nice TQ curve!!
Any why do the graph's say Flywheel numbers? They look more like wheel numbers to me?

Yes, those are wheel horsepower numbers. Because of the way the dynapack software is setup it displays FLYWHEEL in the title.
And yes, the torque spike is because of a slight boost speak. We tuned the car for the most torque down low for auto-x, and thats just what we got!
Very nice, well setup car and an awesome customer. Thanks!

BigBoosting 11-29-2005, 12:12 AM that is probally the craziest curve i have ever seen, you have a 20 lb-ft spike of TQ.
weird

weird
boost spike.
pezman04wrx 11-29-2005, 01:50 PM Nice numbers ... I had to protune with 108oct to pull out mid 250's tq ... I think my 93oct tune is mid 240's tq ... It must drive like a totally different car considering you picked up and easy 25hp/50tq ... :D
SooobieSnack 11-29-2005, 05:18 PM I would love to see the boost and AFR graphs for this tune. Great torque number for the stock turbo. I personally prefer to have the flattest torque curve possible for AutoX since you don't want the car to become unstable as you increase your throttle position at turn exit. Too much of a torque spike will increase the cars tendency to lose traction and controllability as the spike in torque hits. In AutoX you want to be as smooth as possible since smooth is fast. A better AutoX tune would have as much low end torque as possible with out making the torque curve peaky. Peakyness makes the car a more difficult car to drive since the driver must constantly be aware of the spike and control his or her throttle position until a high enough RPM that the spike is no longer an issue. With this kind of spike, I would imagine that you can feel it hit and also feel the rate of acceleration fall off considerably as the torque and boost return to their previous levels. Since you want to be right on the edge of control when cornering in AutoX, the spike will make it more difficult to find the ideal throttle position around the turns. my 2 cents

Yes the car is a blast to drive. I have no problem pulling out of the corners. The car is smooth at every rpm that I can throw at it.
