I have a WRX with a TBE and an uppipe, and I get an Ecutek custom reflash tomorrow. I'm thinking I'll be putting down more whp than a stock STi, would I generally be faster than one?

View Full Version : Stock STi VS WRX Ecutek stage 2? Audi-TT 11-27-2005, 04:06 PM I have a WRX with a TBE and an uppipe, and I get an Ecutek custom reflash tomorrow. I'm thinking I'll be putting down more whp than a stock STi, would I generally be faster than one? TT Driver72 11-27-2005, 04:47 PM Close, but probably not. Stage 2 2.0T WRX puts down about as much as a Stage 1 Legacy GT And at Stage 1 an LGT is not as fast as a stock STI. Stage 2 LGT's pull on stock STI's and are running high 12's to low 13's with trap speeds of 104-107 mph. Again, just a bit faster than stock STI's I'd guess you'll run (corrected at a good track) 13.4-13.6 @ 101-102 mph the_colombian 11-27-2005, 05:10 PM my friend's stage 2 WRX was even with my other friends 05 sti with a catback from a 20-40-60 roll. elirentz 11-27-2005, 05:16 PM depends on driver really with the 6spd. In straight line pulls it can be a disadvantage if you can't shift quickly and smoothly. GC8drifter86 11-27-2005, 05:28 PM a stage 2 with a good ecutek tune should hold up if not do better than a stock STi. You may not have the same WHP but, you are also lighter and there are a few other determining factors, but from a stop an STi will hold its own. perkowskiforpope 11-27-2005, 05:30 PM Yeah from a stop your going to be in some trouble because of the AVCS. WRXskeet 11-27-2005, 05:30 PM i got pulled on by a Stage 2 wrx, FMIC, ecutek tune, TBE and up-pipe, he got me by about 2 cars....i have a stock 05 STi, this was from a roll BTW. bren wrx 11-27-2005, 07:19 PM i got pulled on by a Stage 2 wrx, FMIC, ecutek tune, TBE and up-pipe, he got me by about 2 cars....i have a stock 05 STi, this was from a roll BTW. your old car? REX8 11-27-2005, 07:42 PM I think its fair to say you won't be able to get out of teh hole as quickly as an STi. But on a role, where torque plays less of a roll, its pretty much a dead heat. But coming out of any slow corner, or if you get caught a little low in the revs, the STi will jump on you. Stay away from the standing starts and it will be a drivers race. |
