Hey guys, I did a few searches but couldn't come up with the answer I'm looking for...

The car is a 2005 Legacy GT Limited, full loaded. Now the snow is going to fall soon. The car comes factory with 17's(duh) and I'm wondering if 16 is as small as I can go or if 15's will clear(doubt it). None of the tire shops have the steelies in stock so we can't test em. Our Scoob dealer is pathetic, Their an motorhome dealership that sells Scoobs on the side.

Then as far as a good winter tire(prefer stud) but whatever is pretty good. I have run Nokians, Blizzaks, and X-Ice. What do you guys run?

I found a post about 16's will clear a Legacy GT limited Wagon... I can't see a 16 clearing the calipers at all.

So whats a good tire in the 215/55/17 playing field?
