ok, so i started my car tonight for the first time i n like ~9months, it was an awesome moment.(background: 1998 impreza L coupe with a MY02 EJ25 engine)

but heres the kicker... what i had to do in order to get it to kick over was this:

take the plug boot coming from cylinder 1, and put it where "4" is on the coil pack.. and vice versa, so 1 is 4, 4 is 1, 2 is 3 and 3 is two...basically criss-crossed each plug wire per bank.. my question is, why'd i have to do this?

now it fires right up, and i'm wondering where in my wiring i went wrong to cause the need for the crossover.here's a picture of my 3 to 4 wire conversion, maybe someone with a similar swap could chime in? or heck, maybe someone who knows the diagrams/schematics well enough could tell me what i did?
i did the following:
blue wire from coil pack connector-> blue wire on harness
green w/white stripe on connector to ground
red/green or blue stripe to red w/ green or blue stripe
yellow w/white stripe to yellow w/ green stripe

if you hold the ignitor clip one way, do the bypass wiring, and hold it another way , it's the same, so i guess that idea it out.

How many crimp connectors are you using? This may be part of your problem. They dont conduct as good as soldering the wires.

yeah i'm planning on soldering, just wanted to use some sort of removeable connector untill i knew that wre A definately needs to go to wire B and such..

If you want to solder stuff, I can come over Friday afternoon and evening and we can work on this. I know you need a more permanent solution for the ignitor bypass.
