Crap, about a year ago I bought an old school xbox, and it was tough to find in town. Went to 5-6 places til I finally found one.

I suspect some 360's will be unleashed on the morning of the 25th, along with puppies and ponies.

Hnmmm.. i guess yor right, cause I just remembered I had the same problem finding an Xbox last year as well.

You'd be surprised of the amount of XBOX 360's on Ebay. You'd have to be an idiot to take the one that's 2 grand. I saw a lot on there even a few platinum's with controllers and games at 500-660 tops. Some are even cheaper. The reason for the mark up I'm guessing is becuase of demand and also the extra 3 or 4 games that you get.

So now that you have one (360, that is!), what do you think? I was pretty unimpressed playing the demo units--I was expecting more. Of course it's the games that make the system, not the hardware. That extra power is just icing on the cake! :)

What games do you have, and what kind of opinion do you have of them?

The 360 only really comes alive if you have an HDTV with high res. Like...on my 62" I pumped it up to 1080i and it's simply stunning. On a regular TV using just the regular A/V cables, you won't notice too much a difference from the current xbox.


I recommend buying an HDTV with DLP to really utilize all of the 360 potential.

Well, I'm half-way there, then. :) I didn't inspect anything, but the folks (one guy who wouldn't leave you alone) at ToysRus said that their little screen was set with the HDTV stuff. I just said "cool." The people around me were Ooing and Ahing saying it looked just like a movie (King Kong demo). I was trying to keep the incredulity out of my look when they made eye contact.

Either way, with or without the HDTV, everyone else there was sold. Perhaps they were just wanting it to look good so bad, that's what they saw...

We've been playing perfect dark zero, and i cant think of the other game, starts with a C, has lick charecters that change shape... Both games are fun, Perfect dark is pretty basic, similar to your standard first person shooter game. The other obne is pretty cool, just all the different things you can do with the charecters. As far as picture quality its awesome, we hooked up the High Def cables, and its really nice. Games load very quick as well

just heard from my electronics department that theirs a recall going for the 360....been freezing up during games ..pretty much having disk read errors like the first PS2's did...the 2nd wave which was supposed to arrive in January 20th-22nd has a large chance of being delayed cause Microsoft is trying to fix the prob...shouldnt be to big..but at least they fixing..ionoe if this means to send the current 360's people have to Microsoft or sumtin..but ya just heard that theirs been an issue? guess takes awhile of game play for it to happen..but u know.its new to the market..many times theirs bugs..just gatta fix em'

Kameo with a K I think. Little fairy character changing into other creatures? One of the few 360 titles only as you can get most of the others for the other systems. And like many said. Without an HDTV, the graphics on the 360 do not look much better.

CompUSA has like a shelf full of 360 boxes that say "Display only" and I highly doubt there are that many in a room out back.

Too bad Kameo is 14 hour long scary childrens game.

I sat out and waited in line launch night for my 360 w/ my g/f. She picked one up too and we sold it on e-bay for $800 within 3 hours of posting the auction. Now I'm trying to find more for my friends who want one before Christmas who are paying me $100 extra if I can find them for them.

If anyone else is trying to get one pre-Christmas try Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City and Target. All of these retailers are getting WEEKLY shipments in of small quantities. Lots of places will give you the run around b/c employees are trying to snatch them up before they make it to the shelf so let them know that you know what's up.

I work at Wal*mart..they told me we werent getting nuttin till January..but ill check on it.. i dnt intend on buying a 360 till maybe Halo3... PS3 gunna be much more powerful..has a faster processor and disk read speed.. so should be nice.. but ya ill check up on it ..

Lots of Wal-Marts are saying that. It's bull**** if that's what they're telling you. Microsoft has said many a time that there WILL be weekly shipments and retailers who tell you otherwise are lying or just don't know what they're talking about.

I also read that PS3 is more than likely being pushed back to early-mid 2007 b/c of an overheating problem that has kept game developers from being able to work with the system.
