View Full Version : EJ205 + DB TD05H-20G + 50/50 Meth/water Injection....

testes1010

326whp/292wtq @ 21psi(93 pump + 50/50 meth/water mix).....full torque by ~3700rpm holds solid to ~5700rpm, very flat torque shelf w/ a slight taper toward redline, very linear power all the way to redline, all smiles :D ...

overall I'm very happy with the results(as always, thanks Jorge), & P&L's service was excellent....highly recommend P&L to anyone in the Chicago area....

Mods that matter:
- TurboXS UTEC (professionally tuned by Jorge @ P&L Motorsports)
- TurboXS Hyperflow TMIC
- TurboXS Magnaflow Catless Turboback Exhaust
- BPM XVR crossover pipe with port-matched & ceramic coated stock exhaust manifold, services supplied though Crucial Racing

- Deadbolt Zilla TD05H-20G (ceramic coated)
- CoolingMist 150PSI Alky Injection (UTEC activated, 50/50 Meth/Water)
- GMC Syclone Boost Solenoid
- Perrin Turbo Inlet Hose
- Walbro Fuel Pump 255lph
- XS Engineering CAI
- Mr. Josh's Lightened Crank Pulley
- APS DualVent BPV
- DIY Stainless Steel Hi temp painted & thermal barrier covered Turbo/Downpipe Heatshield

(93 pump + 50/50 Meth/water injection @ 21psi) VS. (93 pump, NO meth @ 23psi)

Nice, no tranny upgrades?

testes1010
12-04-2005, 05:17 PM
other than a pos SPEC STG2 Clutch & ACT Streetlite flywheel, no...stock gearset, stock tranny...

I've been running w/ this turbo since May(tuned by Jorge)...just recently added the ported/ceramic-coated manifold & meth injection...then got a retune by Jorge

wait so ur peak stayed the same wiht the injection

testes1010
12-04-2005, 09:12 PM
nope, 326whp/292wtq @ 21psi(93 pump + 50/50 meth/water mix) minus 299.9whp/274wtq ~18psi(93 pump, no meth)

+ 26whp/18wtq...w/ only ~3 more PSI of boost...

any plans to run it on 21 psi in the quarter mile?

cant you run more than 21 w/ meth ?

did the ported manifold help at all?

testes1010
12-05-2005, 11:43 PM
no, to andy....

yes, to nuhga...jorge had it cranked up to ~25psi...putting down high 330whp w/ less timing..but the TMIC was getting heatsoaked on the dyno...

yes, to bren wrx....but I have no proof of this...

can rifts confirm the help of the manifold prior to tuning the meth

At what psi does the water/alcohol fire off?

At what psi does the water/alcohol fire off?

near full boost from the look of the graph, I do know that the dip in hp/tq @ 3800-4000rpm is due to the initial onset of the injection...

if you speaking of UTEC settings I'm not 100% sure, I haven't checked the parameters on how Jorge set it up...my laptop took a poop this past week, awaiting a new hd... :(

sick car.. I'm looking to eventually get a 20g once I upgrade everything all at once via dynocomp. Gotta save lol. you gonna look into a FMIC soon?

testes1010

you gonna look into a FMIC soon?

nope...it's a daily driver, I'd much rather have quick throttle response & little more torque down low than to have more topend hp & a little less throttle response & torque down low....

Congrats, Hoosier!

Have you strengthened the block at all or had any headwork?

Btw, I'll be down in Eville next week. I'll bring the wagon if it's up to it.

testes1010,

Did P&L help with the install of the parts too? Just curious as I'm thinking of making the drive to Chicago for turbo, injectors, TGV delete, and a protune by Jorge. I trust the tuning, but want to know if I can trust P&L to install (more convenient than installing here and driving).

Wow... very similar to my setup but I love your torque curve.. MUCH broader than mine. Looks great!

I install all my own parts but if I was going to have someone install my parts, P&L would be my only choice. They do great work and they are really good guys. Always looking out for you.

I disagree.. 322awhp daily driver is enough. Like the man said he values low end power over top end.

Nice numbers man.

testes1010,

Did P&L help with the install of the parts too?

nope, I did all the installations on this car except the clutch & flywheel which Ron @ AXIS did....I wouldn't be afraid to let P&L install stuff for me though...

thanks guys for all the compliments... :D

thanks, still on the stock block & heads...but have been looking into an EJ207 w/ the v7 big port heads OR a AXIS STG2 w/ v7 big port heads...give me a call if you make it down this way...

IC is definitely holding you back but if you like the instant response, keep it. I made more on pump 93 than you did on meth/water + 93 but my lag is about 600 rpm more with a dr725. That and my 8cm² housing chips in for lagx0r.

which turbo are you running? dyno chart? mod list?

I know the TMIC is restricting my topend(mainly on the dyno, heatsoak, etc)...using road dyno software my hp numbers are ~10whp more but the torque is about 15-20wtq more due to more efficient cooling...

fp td05h-20g w/8cm² ... allt he same bull**** supporting mods... don't feel like scanning my dyno chart (i'm at work anyway, its at home)...

so mine made 320/293 on pump but it hits late... 4200ish. sorry i can't be of more help. hell, i'd be happy as hell making that power w/tmic.

Wow... now I'm a newb so I obviously don't know much... but I would have expected a 20g to be capable of quite a bit more power. Big 16's put down 275-280.....

I personally would be extremely content with 330.... I just thought the 20g was more capable, thats all.

testes1010
02-24-2006, 06:35 PM
^ its all dependant on the dyno...& supporting mods, etc...

TD06H-20G should put down a bit more but the EJ205 is somewhat undersized for the job....& you'll have quite a bit more lag...

Only about 400 RPM, if that much, and I was running a FMIC, too.

Jeremy, good meeting you. I think you've got a tremendously solid car; well thought out and put together. You made me reconsider some stuff, too. Thanks. I've got to get my tune to a safe point, then I'm going to set up an appointment with Jorge first chance I can.

it was cool meeting up w/ you too, you really need to get that car to Jorge...he'll make that setup really shine...
