What is the amount I should expect to pay for a 2002 WRX over invoice?

I paid sticker. I understand pricing is alittle more flexible now that the buzz is dying down

no more than 500 over invoice, so about 24 grand

This isn't such a cut and dried thing. I went to the dealer nearly every week to see what they had. The day I decided to go in and order one, they had just gotten in 3 new ones: Blue, Sedona Red Pearl, and White.

I drove the red one, and started talking pricing about both that one and the blue one. They told me that they'd give me a good deal on the red one, but wouldn't come off of MSRP on the blue one. I told them I'd buy the Red one, because I wasn't about to pay MSRP for the blue.

As they started the paperwork, I walked outside and checked out the cars again. I decided I couldn't stand to live with that fugly red (no offense to any owners of SRP WRX's... it's just not for me), and changed my mind. I paid MSRP for mine, and I don't even regret it.

Also, he was willing to cut a deal on a blue one if I ordered it, but I was happy going home with it that day.

Moral of the story: It all depends on where you are, what you want, and what's on the lot (although, I would point out that it does appear that reserves of the car are swelling)

Matt.

I do not know if this is appropriate or not, but......

You can use them to get any car, but I got my WRX using their "package". It will be the best 26 bucks you ever spent.

Again, sorry if this is not cool to post this.

Oh, I got my WRX for $475 over invoice, and never went to the dealer until the day I picked up my car.:)

I paid quite a bit under sticker, but it depends on the dealer and your negotiating skills.

Make them believe that you'd walk away and be just as happy. Also, check with other dealers.

BTW, my dealer has a twin of my car for $27,500. I paid UNDER $24,000!!!

NEGOTIATE!;)

So the dealer near me (Carlsen Subaru in California) says they sell them for 4.75% over invoice, "firm," which comes out to be about $1100 over invoice for the car I want. This sounds fair, but not optimal. What do you guys think?

I live in Houston, and my closest dealer has EIGHTEEN WRX sedans in stock:eek: , yet they will not come off MSRP. I was ready to buy, but I just shook my head and walked out. I'm not quite sure what these guys are thinking...

Doug - I assume this amount was before TT&L? So you essentially paid MSRP? Which dealer did you buy from?

Isn't this the 23rd thread about "what did you pay"??? Please do a little search (http://www.i-club.com/forums/search.php?s=) to find your answers...

The dealer out on I-10 heading toward Katy...West Houston Subaru? They wouldn't back down. I paid cash. I don't know if this is good for anything anymore...seems like the dealer would probably like you to finance it through them.

That seems to be the thing there. However, my car got flooded so I wanted one quick. My exp. at the other Houston dealership was not very good. W. Houston offers good service. You might want to try Huffines in Dallas
