View Full Version : Server Maintenance

The server will be down for some serious overhauling tomorrow (Sat, September 8th) I'm not entirely sure how long we will be down for, but I assure you the server will be back online as soon as it's done. I'm estimating about 4-5 hours of downtime, but it could be dramatically less.

Reader's Digest: The existing server is being swapped out, and getting a memory and CPU upgrade, with another that has a greater degree of upgradability. The server we have now is really bending under the load from all the new folks popping on ever day. With this change we should get far fewer episodes of the "Server too busy" message. Wish me luck! ;)

Cool Thanks for the head's up Nick! :)

It's a damn good thing there's a NESIC garage day tomorrow... if we weren't busy, you know we'd all just kinda sit at our computers...trying www.i-club.com every 10 seconds until it comes up :)

ok, well, maybe we're not that bad...on weekends, anyway :D

m750:

I'm not asking for any donations... but if any generous souls feel like helping out a little they can send money to our paypal account: service@i-club.com. Or use this link: https://www.paypal.com/xclick/business=service%40i-club.com&item_name=i-Club+Donation&no_shipping=1

It's starting to looking like very very soon we are going to need to buy a small web server so we can turn the main beast dual processor system into 'just' a mySQL database server.

I don't think there is another board on the planet that's getting hit as hard as we have been the last few months. And with the SCC article... I only see the load on the server going through the roof!

To anybody who donates... THANK YOU!!!

What new equipment will this wonderful service be running on after the upgrade? Not that it matters much, just a little curious.

...with the server swap. Guess we'll all have to go on a road trip while we wait... and that ain't a bad thing afterall.:)
