Well, on my way into the Springs this morning, I was greeted by a monster hail storm. I was really worried about the WRX's paint, but it seemed to hold up pretty well. Woodland Park just got hammered!
There was probably 1/4-1/2 inch of hail on the road in a matter of minutes. This is my first time with AWD in real inclement weather and I was blown away. I tried to slip, but the ABS worked great and when I took off at a stop light fairly hard, I expected some slippage, but I just shot off the line!

Winter's going to be fun with some of the dirt roads up here! Can't wait.

Consider yourself lucky it wasn't really a monster hail storm. If it was you'd be like me with $8000 in damage and 6 weeks (2 gone by) in the shop. The aluminum hood especially doesn't like the hail, and looked twice as bad as the rest of the sheet metal.

Yea, I know it could have been worse. About three years back (when my wife lived in Black forest) she got hit with truley monster hail. The noise in the car was deafening and the damage was really bad. Hood and top of SUV dented, side view mirrors broken, cracked windshield...

Bad stuff.
