has anyone installed a dash pod on a 04 wrx. i was thinking about wiring it into the dash clock wiring harness. if anyone has done this i was wondering what wires go to the four wires in the gauge.

The dash clock is a great place to get power for your gauges and is commonly exploited.

There should be 4 wires. The ones you want are the black one, which is ground, the purple one, which ties into the illumination circuit, and the green/yellow one, which is 12v switched off the ignition. The 4th is constant 12v, so your clock stays set; you don't need that one for your gauges, usually.

thanks a bunch! i didn't need a ton of responses ,just one correct one.now it is time to run sensors and solder wires together!

Isn't there a plug behind the radio for the factory boost guage? You could just use that couldn't you?
