Will a 45mm Omori boost gauge fit into the stock pod mounted on the steering column? I'd like to switch to one with english units, backlit in green, not white...

From what I Remember hearing it's a tight fit, but it can fit there.

Yes it can be done, many people have replaced the factory Lamco gauge with an Omori. It is a tight fit as said but it will go in.

It will fit just spray some silicon or wd40 on the outside of the gauge before you push it in.

Excellent, thanks for the info. I either didn't search correctly or there are too many threads, because I had a hard time finding this.

I found an Omori boost gauge for $90....I think I'll get it. :)

J-Spec Tuning has a writeup on their website for that exact situation. Good guys to get your gauge from too!

A little late but here is the link to our installation page. We hope to be putting more up soon. The write-up to put the 45mm into the OEM Subaru pod was written by CirrusWRX (thanks again).
