Ok so this mornin i started the car up as normal.....NOTE: it was 12 degrees F out there this AM..and car wasnt on since 9pm the night before( idle for 10 hrs basically)

SO i start it up....the needle on the EGT goes nuts..like im talking 900-1000 degrees celsius ( which is what it measures in) ...now it was JUST idling...no revs..nothing.......does that for a little and then just dies....goes below 300 and doesnt move at all the drive home....

From popping the hood all the connections look ok there.....who knows elsewhere..

Could it just be the weather?

There are a couple of threads going right now with respect to problems like these, maybe it does have something to do with the cold, maybe not. Try a search for them, there are seriously like 3 active threads on funky EGT gauge business. Most of them had a lot replies concerning investigation of the ground source or connection.
