Hello!

I just want to let ya'll know that Lancaster County Motors is a GREAT place to buy your next Scoobie. I worked with Steve Lehman(sales man) and Brent Neff (sales manager). They searched and got me my Rally Blue WRX and gave me a good price to boot!!!!!!!!
I paid $24,160 plus tax tags and other crap. Equipped with self dimming mirror, wheel locks, armrest extension, and upgraded security system. A fair price I'd say.

I have not experienced the service department yet but I will post that info when the time comes.

I'm looking for a WRX in Southeast PA, so far my best price is
from the Allentown dealer.

What was the MSRP on your vehicle? $24,160 could be a great
price or a lousy one depending on what you got.

What did you pay other than tax and tags? How much did they rip you for dealer prep?

24,116.00 Price of Vehicle
1,446.96 Tax
55.00 Closing Costs (LOL, *** is THAT?)
33.00 Liscensing and Title Fees
5.00 PA Tire Tax

25,656.46 Grand Total

Exras equipped as follows:

Self diming mirror
Subaru upgraded security system
Wheel locks
Arm rest extension

Not an "unbelievable deal" but I think it was fair

Closing Costs = Dealer ripoff. Don't feel bad, when my wife and I bought her Outback we got soaked $99 for dealer prep. I have since found out that Subaru reimburses the dealer for prep...

Adding the price and the 'closing cost' you paid gives a real price of 24171, punching your options into Yahoo give a MSRP of 25111, so your discount was $940.

I'm shopping right now for a WRX, and Steve Lehman gave me a non-nonsense internet price of $1620 off MSRP for a car on their lot, that was for a white one. Blue is by far the color most in demand in our area, and I bet that this is why you paid extra. I would also bet that the guys in Lancaster did not tell you that.

Thanks for the info, it's very helpful to me in deciding where to buy my car. Of the 5 quotes I have, Lancaster is the second best. I agree that their prices are pretty good, but so far the best price I've found is in Allentown.

Steve,

I also had the opportunity for a white one at a lower price but I wanted the Rally Blue. I know that they upcharged the 55.00 "closing charges" but it was only 55.00. That doesn't bother me. I'll have it made back up in service.

Scoobie Doogie, I'm right up the road in Lititz and have had the opportunity to work with thier service dept.

So far, thier service department has been extremely helpful, honest and friendly. Repair costs have been low, even for a dealer. An excellent place to go for service.

I'm equally glad to hear that the sales department is good to work with. I've successfully persuaded my girlfriend that a Subaru is the only way to go for her next car. I'll give you props when we go in for the test drive and hopefully purchase of a new Outback Sedan. I've also gotten my mom to go Subaru for the next ride.

Roo fever is infectious!!

Peace,

I'd just like to add my 2 cents...

First of all I'm glad for anyone who can walk out of LCM with a smile on their face, I wish I did.

My wife and I were treated very poorly by the so called "sales manager" he was encredibly rude to us. Everyone else, the sales staff and parts dept. were very nice however.

Mr. "Sales manager" also told his sales person to convey the message to my wife and I that it was now or never and if we were not ready to buy that evening then we weren't going to buy at all and obviously couldn't afford it anyway.

I ended up buying my WRX from Apple Subaru in York, PA and was very happy with everyone there so far. I found out from York that LCM was going to over charge me for the price AND the labor on the short throw shifter. Apple also dicounted the car for me when no other dealers in the area were offering discounts on the WRX.

Apple also told me that they frequenty get buisness from dissatisfied customers of Lancaster County Motors. Apple seemed honest and were polite, the sales person even bought my wife and I lunch! Ask for Gretchen you wont be sorry.

So I finally took my GF down to LCM to look at an Outback Sedan. Basically to test drive the car to make sure she liked the ride for more than looks and testimonials alone.

The salesperson we spoke with decided that we were suckers and insisted that MSRP is what we were going to pay for the car (02' Limited Sedan). Granted, we weren't there to discuss finances in depth, but to get a GENERAL BALLPARK idea of what she could expect to be shelling out per month.

When I started to get irritated that the salesman was trying to take us, I decided to mention that the price he kept quoting was MSRP and not what we were going to pay for the car, he gave me an attitude like "don't mess this up for me".

I've dealt with plenty of these as-swipay salesfolks, see Jones Honda, and decided it was time to leave.

I will have to check out Apple, at your recommendation.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes.

Peace

Back from the dead, with a little bit of my input!!

I shopped around for a few weeks after my 19th birthday for a new car b/c I was tired of driving my peice of junk around. Anyway I decided on a WRX and contacted LCM about setting up an appointment, I met with Mr. Lehman and he acted like I wasn't even intrested in buying a vehicle. I was offered $50 on a trade in on a $25k car!! He made me mad, so I left and contacted Apple Subaru in York and they treated me very well and I had my car one week later. I would tell someone to go to York to buy their Subaru well before LCM.

I have taken my car to LCM for warranty work and a alignment after I lowered it and they did a fine job. BUT, they don't seem to be a very mod friendly dealership as opposed to York who told me if you replace an exhaust only the exhuast warranty doesn't exist anymore.

$50:huh: I hope that's a typo. I started contact with Steve the other day to get pricing on an '04 STi. He offered me invoice but I figured I could go a little lower since the car has 160 miles on it and b/c the '05 are here. I emailed him and I haven't heard from him since. I was checking around eBay today and low and behold, the bastard had put the car up for auction. The least he could have done was contact me and counteroffered. Instead, he decides I'm not worth his time and just ignores me. Guess I'll check out Apple as well.

Not a typo, $50. Ask for Bob, don't remember his last name, but hes an older guy and pretty cool. He treated me great and really worked with me.
