rice h8r 12-18-2005, 10:47 PM a free hood?!?!?!? why not sell it for $$$?
turboICE 12-18-2005, 11:33 PM It has mild/moderate hail damage that could likely be dentless repaired.
I can't get someone to come and get it for free, I don't think charging is going to move it faster. I was going to use it to replace the one on my old 04 that had hood pins, but the dealer didn't give me a hard time when I traded it in so now trying to get it out of my space.

Hyper 01-20-2006, 05:17 AM coming back this sunday so we can probly meet next weekend or some time during the week :)
oh, Ed, I never asked, how much life is actually on the rears?
turboICE 01-20-2006, 08:40 AM My best guess is around 12,000. If my recollection is accurate I put them on around 11,000 miles. I took them off when I demodded the car trying to sell it, which based on the sale attempt threads was less than 24,000 miles.
The rears don't see nearly the wear and heat of the fronts. They have never been resurfaced and the "lip" from wear is nearly indiscernable.
PS - they had not been installed as of my first sale attempt with mods at 11,000 miles and took them off before I tried to sell the car de-modded at under 23,000 miles.
We had a deal with RacingBrake and my first set of fronts were replaced because of the wear from pure racing pads on the front. On the track I was using DS3000 pads which work up to much higher temperatures without fade, but would never heat up enough to work properly on the street - they were subjected to significant stresses on the track and lasted well in that use. In street, auto-x and occassional track use the new fronts and used rears will last much longer than OEM. The rears only had the DS2500 street/performance pad and don't do nearly as much work and held up fine and are good based on RacingBrake's inspection of them.
turboICE 01-20-2006, 08:52 AM Edited.

turboICE 03-22-2006, 02:54 PM In response to PMs, yes the rotors and the single wheel are still available at the terms listed.
turboICE 06-05-2006, 03:19 PM PM's replied to - the wheel is original 2004 silver not painted. All blemishes are visible and illustrated in the hi-res link above and can be found here as well http://gallery.wastedtalentmotorsportclub.org/album02/Used_BBSWheel?full=1
I am located in 07005 http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=07005
turboICE 06-07-2006, 11:23 AM Additional PMs responded to. No the parts of the wheel outside of the picture are not hiding curb rash - all defects in the finish are visible in the hi-res picture linked.
Wheel is pending sale this evening.
I have another wheel which is scraped/rashed on two spokes. I have not decided what I am going to do with it yet.
wrxwhip 06-08-2006, 03:47 PM pm'd you about the wheel, if its sold i might take the curbed one, send pics to abercrombie6clj@comcast.net. Thanks.
Cliff
turboICE 06-08-2006, 04:13 PM OK being as polite as I can to everyone. This is not directed at any one of the four who have PM'd me - this is all just very general though the themes are consistent.
The person that was supposed to be coming by Wed. night to buy the wheel did not and also did not contact me.
I have the wheel offered above still, plus the scraped one.
The wheel above remains $100. I don't have a lot of free time on my hands - meeting half way is a cost to me such that it would be like getting $25 for the wheel maybe less after gas. It isn't going to happen. What I meant by local pickup only, means local to me (as in my driveway) or where I may already be at the time (a race or something), not local to the tri-state. ;) (I had a chuckle at that one take the comment as appreciative humor.)
Likewise for a buyer coming all the way to me costs you such that the cost could be like paying $175 or maybe more with gas. I also understand and appreciate this and with no judgement whatsoever don't blame you if you don't think it is worth it - if it isn't worth it to you then we don't have a deal and we go our ways no hard feelings.
So the situation we have is a seller that has reduced the price to a point where there isn't a whole lot more motivation in $100 than to carry it out of the garage and put it in someone's vehicle parked in my driveway.
The question that remains after that, is there a buyer who thinks that this wheel is worth $100 plus their time and transportation to get it? If so we can set a time to meet.
There was a time when I would spend a lot of time for not a whole bunch of money - but those times have passed for me. My time is a lot more important to me than it used to be. But hey your alls time is valuable to you or you wouldn't be asking to meet half way. ;)
I have had the wheels here for over a year, I am not in some desperate need to sell them for the cash, it would just be nice for them to be gone. If they are still here a year from now, then they are - but for the money we are talking about I would rather not spend my free time driving all over.
OK - the only person that I could identify as being the next in line as showing interest is from Norwalk and has pictures of both wheels and has expressed interest in both. He will be given fair amount of time to consider the options we have discussed. I can't really figure out who among the other three were the next to contact me so I am not sure what the order will be after that.
The person I am currently discussing this with is considering both wheels and hopefully something can be arranged.
If not, the wheels are available as follows:
The wheel in this thread remains at $100.
The scraped spoke wheel is $75.
They are available together at $150.
Ed.
(I know quite the salesman aren't I, now I know why I never did sales well.)
wrxbert 06-08-2006, 06:28 PM where is nj are you? i'm interested in both wheels
