View Full Version : Piaa Extreme bulbs
Miracle Worker 09-10-2001, 02:30 AM I compaired the Xtreme bulbs with the Piaa Platinium Superwhites and at first glance the Xtremes didn't seems as bright. Well after driving home and getting 3 cars flashing me that was proof enough they are definately brighter. They have a very slight blue hue to them but so do the HID's. Mind you they arn't the crappy blue's you may be use to seeing on the streets. They are white, really white.
The only drawback is I'm getting anoyed by cars flashing me. It's like flash me when i'm 100 feet away not when I'm 20 feet away, That gives me no time to blind them :D They look nice with the Ion Crystal fogs

speedbuggy67 10-15-2001, 12:16 PM What about light on the road? I have had super whites, bright whites, HID whites and all of them look bright but the light is just not on the road just on reflections on signs. Until they put more light on the road and last more than a year I will stick with stockers. Any info on output would be appreciated.

Miracle Worker 10-16-2001, 01:36 PM the Xtremes allow you to see far and wide. It's white so it won't seem like there is light on the road like a colored light would. If you don't like the superwhites then you won't like the Xtremes.
speedbuggy67 10-17-2001, 11:29 AM Thanks for the help. I actually was thinking about the catz Zeta kit that looks HID and puts more light on the road then stock and Piaa. They runn about 225. I need to do more research though.

Darwin 10-17-2001, 02:41 PM wondering of those extremes may just produce more glare though, and that's why you're getting flashed. . glare=bad. :P
VanillaEps 11-28-2001, 04:50 PM Where I can get my hands on a pair of Xtreme's????
i have Piaa super plasmas and the problem is that they don't seem to put enough light to the ground...specifically in bad weather or when it rains. btw what is the runnung price for the Xtreames??
Miracle Worker 11-28-2001, 10:38 PM I got the Xtremes from Sidewayz, you can see if Faraz can get them for you and they should be around the 65 mark i believe.
ScoobyShak 11-29-2001, 09:23 PM I had just gotten the lights from Turbo Evolution they are on this board somewhere. But I had gotten them from Turbo Evolution through GroupBuycenter.com for $50. I recieved them in less than a week also. I will have to agree with Bill they are nice there are probably better but they are nice. I actually got Head, fog, and corners all for $100.
Miracle Worker 12-01-2001, 08:49 PM nothing like getting blinked by 50% of the drivers at night. Just keep the high beams on, that'll give them something to BLINK about :D
zabutter 12-29-2001, 01:33 AM Piaa does not, to date, make Extreme in 9007. Give them 2 mo. I have the Superwhite 9007, used them for years. The extremes I have in the fogs (H3). Much brighter and whiter.
The_Doctor 01-01-2002, 05:09 PM I got the new super xtreme's rated at 4200k and they look fantasic. They put plenty of WHITE light on the road and they aren't too blue either. I got them for the foglights too. I get flashed probably 20% of the time so it's not too bad. I think I'm going to aim them a little lower on the road so that might help. I recommend them to anyone. But lets just see how long they last.

wonthanhboi 01-19-2002, 04:50 AM I want new brighter and blue/whiter bulbs. I dont want glare though. Don't want to get flashed at or nothing. Does the catz zeta kit put out a lot of glare? And how do u know how much glare a bulb gives besides getting flashed by other cars? Welpz, thanks in advanced. Bye.

Basshead 01-24-2002, 07:42 PM i had PIAA Platinum Superwhites before and just recently got Xtreme's in the fogs and heads(cause they kept burning out constantly)....I did a side by side comparison, and the Platinums put out more light. The Xtreme's however have a very nice color to them and the reflectors bounce a little of the blue filter around but it's not bad at all..I like the color a lot and in the snow these things rule. The 4150k rating is true but to achieve this a lot of the light is being filtered out. I don't find glare being a problem at all. Supposedly the Xtreme's have the largest current draw out of all the PIAA family. I would recommend these lights if your in the market for aftermarket ones. I have yet to find a bulb that is bright in the rain, aftermarket or not..stupid black roads
